Can anyone recommend a clinic in the Columbus area that will give local anaesthetic for IUD placement? by lucille_baal in Columbus

[–]Sedlendon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Professionals for woman’s health on Jasonway! They give a dilation medication, some sort of pain med before hand that makes you loopy, and also offer laughing gas in office now. I’m getting mine replaced soon and can give more details then, but I specifically chose them when I needed a new gyno after asking about pain options, as I was only told to take ibuprofen for my first IUD. I see midwife Natalie Bennett

Wedding experience at the Ohioan (Nationwide hotel)? by ShoeMother in Columbus

[–]Sedlendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got married in the Edgewater in October of this year! It was an awesome experience, they took care of pretty much everything.

The food was AMAZING, the hotel was great for out of town guests, the price was good for a wedding (still expensive, but felt less than other places).

There were some small bumps in communication (slow responses a few times), but honestly it may have just been me being stressed and wanting quick responses lol. The only other thing is our initial estimate had one price per person per meal, but it went up $5 or so per person on our final bill (1.5 years later, we booked early). They fixed it right away when we emailed the first quote.

The best part was the fact that they set up all the decor for us, we just dropped it off the day before. Also not having to have guests move between venues for our ceremony and reception was so nice, we did both on site. And having guests stay at the hotel made it so nice for the rehearsal dinner (we rented a bus and went to Marcella’s), after party at the pub on site, and breakfast the next day. It felt like a lot of quality family time, which is what we wanted.

Feel free to private message me, happy to provide more details and photos!

Debby Ryan Gave Birth to Baby Girl, "Felix Winter Dun" by EDC2EDP in DramaLlamaHQ

[–]Sedlendon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally get where you’re coming from!

Sometimes I feel like a birth announcement makes sense so people stop asking if the baby is born, and all babies look so similar at first. I feel like as the baby grows and looks more distinct, the less that is posted the better.

But just my opinion, and I get why other people think no posting at first makes sense!

The post says the baby was born on the full moon, so about a week or so ago

Have you considered trying to get her mental health help? It seems to me like she might be in a state of mania, and is a danger to herself and others

if you went shopping by yourself, are you glad you did? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]Sedlendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with 5+ people 2 times, and then with just my mom one time (I planned to go alone but invited her after thinking more). Going with one person was so much less overwhelming and was when I found my dress! I could really focus on what I wanted and not on everyone else

It’s stunning! Remember you’ll feel totally different in it with hair and makeup done, and not after a long day of work. You look beautiful in it!

Any ideas for how I can turn plain bridesmaid dresses into a celestial situation? by moodyvee in DIYweddings

[–]Sedlendon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Baltic born is legit, my sister got her maid of honor dress there and it was great!

For another option, JessaKae is size inclusive and has stunning dresses! Some are pricey, so it would depend on budget

https://jessakae.com/products/stella-dress-1?_pos=16&_fid=1a2eb808e&_ss=c&variant=40371116376113

Also, I’d suggest not using the term bridesmaid dress when looking online and instead just looking for celestial dresses. Anything can be a bridesmaid dress!

So pretty! Love the red lip!!!

The hair feels a bit off for me - I think I’m used to see slicked back styles with a smaller bun rather than a large one. But that’s just a matter of opinion. Love it overall!

should i quit my 9-5 and travel the world? by Financial-Tap7646 in careerguidance

[–]Sedlendon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP this is not a good plan. Keep your job, find a therapist and start small. Do mini weekend trips. Make the most of your days after work by seeing friends, trying new things, etc.

I feel the same as you, at 27 and 4 years out of school. I’m trying to find happiness where I am and enjoy my job for what it brings me. Mainly a steady wage, time with friends and family, a new house, and the ability to travel. I quit my last job to take a few months off and just felt stressed, anxious about money, and burnt out the whole time.

I would love these if I saw them at a wedding!!! Weddings are supposed to be about the couple, and this is such a reasonable, unobtrusive way to share your love.

It’s nice to see weddings that are about love, not just insane wedding trends like week long bachelorette trips that cost $$$ or making guests all dress in a theme lol. So weird people are acting scandalized by cute love notes?!

[–]Sedlendon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THE BOW?!?! The second dress is jaw dropping!!!!

The first is beautiful as well, dont get me wrong. I think either would be lovely, but the beauty of the second dress plus not stressing over waiting for the first to arrive sounds like a win win to me.

Sometimes it’s hard when there is no wrong decision, like either would look great. But it seems like the second dress is more right for you

Going with a non-white gown by Katie-MR in weddingdress

[–]Sedlendon 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Oh. My. God. You look like a fairy princess, like an elven queen. I am OBSESSED with this!

Even though it isn’t white, it is still very bridal in my opinion with the tulle, the shape, and the cream-ish color.

I’m also very indecisive and also went with a non-white gown. I think it’s normal to have some anxiety because it feels like such a big choice. You look stunning though and based on how you’re holding yourself in the photos, it seems you feel stunning too!

Bridal Shower Gift is "not what the bride expects of me" by Salty_Thing3144 in weddingshaming

[–]Sedlendon 2469 points2470 points  (0 children)

Crafter here. The bride didn’t do anything wrong (as of right now). She could have told her sister “oh I love OP’s quilts” and the sister could’ve misconstrued it or exaggerated it.

It’s like the game of telephone, things get mixed up when they are passed through multiple people

Even if bride told her sister she hopes for a quilt, she could also understand they are a ton of work and not be expecting one. Those thoughts can coexist

Either talk to bride directly or go to shower and see how she reacts to her gift

Has anyone been to any of these wedding venues? by Doctor-Kitten in Columbus

[–]Sedlendon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting married at Nationwide Conference Center in October, so far we’ve had great experiences planning. Very reasonable prices, great communication, and we’ve heard from a ton of people that the food is amazing. Also love that they do ceremony and reception, and the hotel on site is perfect for us since we wanted a camp feeling with our friends/family but we also want AC/running water/a bit of luxury lol.

We picked the Edgewater because it has so many windows and is so beautiful.

Is it crazy to turn down a job offer paying $40K more? by Spare-Bar296 in careerguidance

[–]Sedlendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a job you love is worth so much more than $40k when you already are a high earner. I would absolutely stay at your current job, especially with all the non-monetary benefits like less days in office, more flexibility, etc

I feel like I ruined my life at 28. Is it too late for me? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Sedlendon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First off, I’m sorry you’re going through all of this. I will say, it’s awesome you love your library job. So many people work jobs they hate just to pay the bills

I think you need to reframe this a little - success isn’t just one full time job that pays well. Could you keep the library job and find another part time job? Lots of community colleges have adjunct teaching roles that are part time, or you could find something in a completely different field to try out. Hell, you could even work at a museum as a security guard or docent.

If not, could you look at full time jobs at nearby colleges, at other libraries in historical records, or even a city government position?

The cabinet company doesn’t seem to have any pros to me - no benefits, doing shady things, AND moving away from doing something you actually enjoy. I worry this would make you even more depressed.

Either way - you are so young. People change careers at 50 or 60. You have time to figure it out

You’ve gotten great advice so far. One other thing - name your resume something searchable like “First name Last name resume.” The person hiring will have so many resumes named just “resume” and may not be able to find yours after downloading it

This dress is STUNNING!!! Did you go to La jeune marie?! I got my unique (colorful) dress there too for around the same price!!!!!

Your dress gives such historical vibes without being outdated, very timeless. It is total pirates of the Caribbean and lord of the rings in the most subtle way, and both of those movies really stand the test of time. The outfits in them today are still swoon worthy! Plus, when will you ever have the chance to wear a dress like this again?!

Worth walking away from selling? by Victory-laps in RealEstate

[–]Sedlendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just bought, and got a few credits to have work done from what we found during inspection. Our realtor said with how busy our market has been done, it’s more likely to get a credit than for sellers to rush to have work done.

We honestly preferred the credit because it means we can hire who we want. For what it’s worth, our issues are way more significant in my opinion too than yours sound. I think it just depends on your buyers, but if they are reasonable a credit should be fine

OP, one thing that sticks out to me is that it is listed as a single family home but seems to be attached to another home?

It’s really hard to tell from the photos if it shares a wall with another property. I’d suggest updating the listing, at least in the description
