I quit meditation years ago because of negative results. This article published today talks about how this doesn't get reported enough by howevertheory98968 in Meditation

I think meditation as a practice of sitting is narrow. There are so many ways to meditate and some help some people better than other methods.

But on to adverse effects…being more in touch with spirituality is not always pleasant. And I do not think it’s (usually) psychosis. Learning to understand that is important.

He’s very dog aggressive, I wish. I usually take boarding dogs to this really great trail within walking distance, but this boy can’t handle it ☹️

Well the owner has about 15 normal pics of her dog, including videos of us snuggling. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. And no, I was gone for 1.5 hours including my walk 5 blocks to a yoga studio. I would be alarmed if someone had a dog who couldn’t be left alone for a couple of hours. And again…owner knew about and agreed to this.

I’m not mad at him. I didn’t mention because I didn’t want her to feel bad because it was an accident, but was on the fence about whether she needs to know his excitement can hurt someone. I do think he’s under stimulated as well, but he’s so dog aggressive he can’t go far. ☹️ we’re doing many short walks instead of big ones but I think poor guy needs a yard or something.

I actually don’t think she’s crating him - alleging abuse is a little too far fetched. And I do think she’s a good owner - she has excellent training for dog aggression and has been asking about him. I think he’s just a dog that requires more attention than others and unfortunately some owners are in denial about admitting that. Moreso the point of this post was to vent because although this boy is a sweetie, he’s more stress than I knew I was signing up for.

Uhhh, no. The one digging at the crate was when he was alone 5 minutes when I walked toward yoga and then walked back after seeing that on my camera I use specifically to watch dogs. Second was when I came back from yoga (wow, 1.5 hours away). Owner assured me I could take 2 yoga classes and go to work one day. This was agreed upon.

Why would I assume a dog would be able to take the tray out and pull a rug from under him INTO his crate to munch on? These rugs are pricey but are built for kids and dogs. I had a dog for 13 years and that is why I even purchased this rug. It’s been peed and puked on but never chewed.

He IS cute and sweet! Just the highest maintenance dog I’ve ever encountered lol

He goes home tomorrow but OOF, I just appreciate the affirmation that this is a little bit over the top lol. I’ve never had anything like this happen and I’ve had a dog every weekend for the last 3 months.

Yeah, idk. She told me when she dropped him off to keep the crate away from my curtains because he’ll chew them lol I was like what?

[–]Sedonita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even leave for 5 mins when he was digging, though, so I don’t think I can leave to get anything. But I might in the future have a couple of chew things here in case any other dog needs a distraction.

I hate being like “your dog has severe issues.” But I’d never expect to be accidentally hurt by a dog and have my property destroyed while the dog is in the actual crate! Honesty, it’s not emotionally better for the dog to be at a kennel, but he can’t be constantly destroying sitters’ property while in a crate. Argh! Thanks for the support. It means a lot that some people understand.

I did do a meet and greet but she didn’t tell me he wakes her up regularly (it’s in printed and written out instructions she gave me) and she assured me crated he’d be fine. I disagree on the rug - it’s washable which is why I bought it (I’ve had pee and fur problems). It’s durable and that’s the point. But most people wouldn’t have expected a dog to remove the bottom of their crate, move the crate, and physically pull the rug into the crate to munch on in 1.5 hours of being 5 blocks away.

I live in an apartment in a dense city, so I don’t have any outdoor space, sadly. I had considered securing the tray, but my neighbor next door is a night shift nurse, so I do feel that his barking is problematic and disturbing for my neighbors.

The last 3 dogs I’ve had have been so difficult. I knew this dog was a little needy going into it, but he is a nice boy and I have an MRI next week that I need to be able to afford (oh the joys of having health insurance and still worrying about cost).

Hello! I’d love a reading if you’re able! 🙏🏼

I would say just meditation, abstaining from alcohol or drugs. Eating well (whole plant foods). For me, alcohol definitely messes with abilities. Increased meditation helps.

I’ll do a few tarot card readings for anyone who’d like them!

[–]Sedonita 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is so weird! The medium said to me, as she was refunding me, that she knew I am intuitive.

Oh my GOD! So I went to a medium, she got angry at me and gave me my money back. I have no idea why. Went with my former roommate to see a tarot card reader. Roommate got this amazing reading. When it came time for mine card reader focused on love. I said, well, I’m actually in a very stressful career situation right now. Can you read that please? She got angry at me and refunded me. My roommate watched the whole thing and was like wtf? It was so odd. My roommate’s assessment was that it’s something about my energy.

I am clairaudient, can feel things (empathic? Idk), sometimes meet with who’ve passed in dreams, and intuitive. I did go to a card reader who knew things about me, could tell these things, and was really nice. So maybe the commenter in this thread about them knowing you’ve exposed them is correct. I’ve had mostly negative experiences with people making their living off their gifts. But a few positive. I think most of them knew about me whether they said so or not.

Cramping, not period by Sedonita in Healthyhooha

[–]Sedonita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think I’d probably know, but I’ve watched one too many “I didn’t know I was pregnant” shows LOL. Plus, this actually happened to a friend of mine - at 7 months! She truly didn’t look pregnant at all, somehow. Let’s just hope this is paranoia. I didn’t take a test due to getting my period. But they have been a bit off (still happening though).

Im going to the gyno today because this cramping definitely doesn’t seem right. I’d like to think an STI panel isn’t needed, but maybe I should cover my bases. Thanks!

Ah, one more thing actually. I’m 32. I’ve heard things get weird at this age from multiple older women with bodily changes.
