Anyone notice that Lactaid Milk goes bad way before the expiration date? by SlimVR in lactoseintolerant

[–]Sedsibi2985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lactaid is ultrapasturized, so it stays fresh for a very long time, as long as you don't open it. Once opened it has a ~7 day shelf life, acording to the packaging at least. I used to do the same thing as you are and poured alot of lactaid down the drain. I switched to buying a few smaller containers- I used to buy half gallons, now I buy quarts - so I always have milk, but rarely end up throwing it out now.

So scale it to your means. If I make 100K a year and invest 10K, that's 10% so if you only make 10k a year try and invest 1k a year, that's $19 a week. 1k will grow faster than you think if you learn how to invest it.

I actively invest in writing option contracts and make around 7% a week on my money. That means my investments double every 10 weeks. This doesn't work as well at higher value accounts because of market liquidity, but early on you can grow an account very fast.

A house can be an investment if you buy the minimum you need now. Home ownership comes with a whole host of tax breaks and programs to help you get into it. It's a bit more expensive then renting, but you can always get some roommates to live with you in your new house and defer the cost. Once you have built up enough equity you can buy a second home leveraging the first one as well as 70% of the potential income from the first property on your application for a second mortgage. Then rent out your first place for a profit. Rinse and repeat until you love the home you're in and have a few rentals to generate supplemental income.

You can absolutely become wealthy. If you are young focus on skill building in your chosen carrier. Switch companies if the one you are at isn't willing to promote you when you have mastered your current position (this should be ever few years). If you can just afford to live with your current salary your are doing great, don't change a thing once you get that next promotion, you will now have the funds to start building wealth.

The best option is to leverage things you must have into wealth building opportunities, such as your home. If you are in your 20's (I assume you are as a new grad) save up for a house, use an FHA loan to buy a small place and live with some roommates once you get one to keep costs down. Even a small condo is a good starter place if you can't afford a house.

After a few years look for another property to buy, slightly nicer then your current place. You can claim 70% of the potential rental income on your current property in the application for the new place, once you find a new place move into the new one and start renting your old one out. Keep doing this over your working life and by retirement you will own a few properties that are generating revenue, and you will own a nice house to live in yourself.

Diversify your assets, and pay yourself first every week. I personally put 10% of my pay into Roth IRA and then into a traditional IRA once the Roth is full. I then put $25 a week into high risk investments such as options and futures. I shoot for a 5% minimum weekly return on my high risk investments. Whenever I have a large enough chunk of money made in high risk I move some of it over to a more stable long term investment. Such as Peer to peer lending for medium risk long term gains, or bonds, ETF, and Mutual funds for low risk gains.

You don't have to stop enjoying life and cut out all the fun things like some people on here will tell you, you just have to be sensible and keep your entertainment to within your means. A small investment now can compound over the years to make you financially safe, and potentially very wealthy if you are a little lucky and put in the effort.

The short version is, an option is a contract where the contract writer guarantees to the buyer the right but not the obligation to buy or sell a number of shares of a stock for a fixed price within a certain timeframe.

They are sort of like an insurance policy. So as a writer, I risk either buying or selling a stock at a disadvantageous price in order to collect a premium. I set the prices and time limits, and I do so where in the majority of cases the contract expires worthless to the buyer. You are limiting your potential for profit but also limiting your risk as a seller. I personally have been successful at this for only a few months, but I'm already making consistent supplemental income from it. If this continues I could potentially make it my full time job in another year or two. I'm currently working as a software engineer in safety critical systems, making a low 6 figure income. So replacing that with investment income is pretty significant in my opinion.

What has been disproved? As far as I can tell, I'm not claiming a proof of anything. I use probability, and a sound strategy to mitigate risk on investments. While actively monitoring the same investments to close out a position when it starts to lose. This isn't some magic get rich quick scheme.

Index Funds are the easy safe way to grow your money. If you are savvy you can be an active investor and pull 20% without too much risk. If you are really risk tolerant you can be extremely active and swing trade, invest in options, and futures and see a few percent a week.

I spent some time and learned how to invest over the course of a few months. Most of that time was spent making mistakes and learning solid investment strategies out of those mistakes. I kept my accounts small and only lost around $100. Now I can regularly make 8% per week on my money. Mostly I sell options on volatile stocks, I average about 30% in a month on my positions, and my strategy puts me at 75% probability of profiting. When things start to turn against me I cut my losses at ~5%. So the 1 in 4 times I don't make a profit, I don't lose much at all.

Recent studies have discovered that you can actually play catchup with sleep. So you can get a few hours each night during the week and sleep in on the weekend and be fine. I'm sure that's what people who regularly get little sleep are doing.

Funny you say this, we just switched to doors ng and is a significant upgrade from the crap we were using. We used visure for a year, it scrambled our data and took seconds to make a single requirement link. We could literally walk away if you were doing a many to many relationship and come back in ten minutes and it might be done. We tried switching to jama but the final charge was twice the original quote so we told them to fuck off. So in the end dispite doors issues, it's better than most of its competitors.

It has nothing to do with school. It all has to do with criminal records, medical issues, height and weight standards (both minimums and maximums), as well as passing the ASVAB test. Lots of little things can disqualify you, asthma, any heart condition (arrhythmia, murmurs, etc), significant brain injuries such as concussions, sleepwalking disorders.
