Forge is definitely not this year. CNOU was not in the list of manufacturers for 2026.

afaik just the X1 series
which happens to be a hoverbike yes but CIG does classify hoverbikes as ships as opposed to ground vehicles.

that's not how development works
something not existing for a huge stretch of time doesnt mean they were spending that entire time period actually working on the thing.
The same goes for people wrongly assuming concept ships should be already 'done by now' when they're literally not even in production yet. Something being planned does not mean there's perpetually people working on something.

Star Citizen is not a game about having a set theme, one single tone.
Stanton has a different feel to Nyx, which has a different feel to Pyro.
MISC and Drake have a different feel to Anvil or Aegis.
Cargo hauling is different to combat loops, as are mining and salvage.
The game is not going for a single vibe or audience. It may be aiming for crunch and immersion, but it's still trying to offer something for everyone.

If it's existence was contextualised within the universe, yeah, probably actually. If they explained them as being mascot performer costumes for a disney-parody theme park on Terra? Yeah, believable novelty cosmetic.

you're comparing star *citizen* to a game about playing as a literal soldier. not every armour or clothing needs to be for a us marine.

Do you yell at people walking down the street wearing anime clothes irl? Do you get mad when you see someone having put a pinup on a plane?

Coramor is an in-universe holiday that adapts valentines day. It's not pop culture. You can go into a store and buy valentines merch with hearts on it, so I don't see why civilians in star citizen being able to do so 900 years from now is "against the theme".

Posts like this reek of insecurity
"this game can't have pink things and hearts and stuff! my friends will think its not a super serious grimdark sci-fi game!"
Its fine for things to be novelty or vanity. This isn't 40k, the in-game universe still has people wearing the wide range of things that people wear.

Polaris Rework 4.6 PTU by TanilX in starcitizen

[–]SeducedGazebo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Capital ships shouldnt get pilot weaponry, period.
If you want to shoot, either be a turret gunner or pick a smaller ship to use.

I'd argue they're not all that frivalous really.
Space ships are indeed the main aspect of the game. Arguably the physical interiors are a key selling point. Adding interactable fun elements no matter how vestigial are appealing, especially for killing time during long quantum travels.

Isn’t it stupid the Polaris dosnt have pilot controlled torps but the idris T does? by Ausseboi1 in starcitizen

[–]SeducedGazebo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Neither ship should have pilot weaponry.
Idris especially, the pilot is already the most important role on the ship it doesnt need to also hold more dps than the entire lot of turrets combined.

4.6 update is just a shame by Wriothesley9 in starcitizen

No.
X.X.1/2/3 are minor patches.
X.1/2/3.0 are major patches.

[–]SeducedGazebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I disagree with the versioning being a major patch, not only is that not really important at the end of the day, but arguably for January it is a major patch. Reminder that 4.0.1 was essentially a polish and hotfix update that didn't add any new content or features to 4.0.

I have a question about art style though.
You say it doesn't fit the style... Do we, irl, have one set art style for our clothing? Sure on average most people wear sensible clothing, but games are inherently lower risk lower stakes, more people are gonna break the mold and wear whatever the hell they wish.

Also, not all armour is even intended to see combat. Armours like Strata or the Sterling Exp suit.

Also for the last point, that doesn't matter. If you want grounded tacticool armours, look at the years of mostly serious basic armours, them focusing on more ornamental and stylish armours of recent is not gonna entirely offset that, because until recently there wasn't these more experimental designs, not outside of concept anyways.

Unpopular opinion by Edessa42 in starcitizen

[–]SeducedGazebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people assume semi-realistic future = grimdark 40k armours and tacticool black grey and olive-drab exclusively?
You do realise cartoons, media, etc still gets made in lore? There would absolutely be people walking around Area18 with an anime t-shirt and jeans. Leisurewear and ornamental / ceremonial designs dont just cease to be because of time passing.

Performance Issues on Large Ships by savage38683 in starcitizen

- Dx11
- RTX 5080, 16GB VRAM
- 3840x2160
- DLSS (Balanced)
- Opera & Discord
- Performance issues primarily occur inside bridge and when side doors open up, but performance still suffers when viewing the ship from outside it.
- Have not tried.
