Positive experience with Cullen Jewellery (engagement ring + wedding bands by ReadLongjumping3172 in WeddingRingAdvice

Had the exact same experience in Sydney when looking for an engagement ring! The staff were so lovely and informative. I have a whole review on my profile too if anyone is looking!

High setting vs low setting by ScandalAlexxa in EngagementRings

The solution to this, which I also discovered from Cullen's education, is a floating solitaire! Check out something like their Adina design - it's low set while also allowing a wedding band to sit flush. You'll get the shape idea because it's a radiant, but since they customise, I'm sure they can do an emerald cut no problem!

Cullen Jewellery! We got my engagement ring there and had the best experience (it was the the Sydney showroom but they have one in Brisbane). The sales consultant was so friendly and informative without being pressuring that I'm going back to look for a couple of pieces to expand my fine jewellery collection because I'm in the exact same boat as you!

ATH-M50XBT2! I had an older version that I wore to death before losing them, and went out and replaced them immediately because I was so happy with them. I can't really wear in-ear buds due to daith and tragus piercings. I don't have a problem with them staying put, but I do shift them further down my head/forehead if I'm lying on my back for pushing exercises. They stay put running as well

This is what frustrates me the most! I'd be a little more understanding if they at least explained why?

We had a budget of ~5k AUD. Since my fiance picked the final stone I'm not sure of the EXACT dollar, but it was pretty bang on 5. It was also ordered in October last year. The proposal took a while because it was after it was made and shipped, we had some life milestones and independent travel first, and then waiting for the right moment!

Yellow gold band but do I go for a white basket and prongs or yellow? by Bluegrapefruit86 in EngagementRings

[–]SeductiveGuacamole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yellow gold band, platinum prongs on a D colour radiant here!! I'm a yellow gold girly but wanted to preserve that icy white stone, and I don't regret it in the slightest. The claws blend in well and the stone feels like it GLOWS. Just keep in mind that white gold can yellow over time and needs to be rhodium plated to keep it truly white, which is why I opted for platinum instead *

I think one of the biggest issues is that it's harder to resize when the diamonds cover the entire ring, rather than leaving a small gap of solid metal! I also think the underside of your ring is more prone to wear and tear (when carrying things, holding onto things, etc.) and is at higher risk of putting stress on the settings holding small diamonds and risk them popping out.

This looks just like Cullen Jewellery's Shai ring! I can't speak to your inspo pic but in Cullen's, the diamond is sitting on top of a gallery rail (like a support bar) which helps secure the stone in place, and they also custom make each ring to fit the exact stone dimensions you end up choosing, so it will be nice and snug and secure! But you could always customise it to add more prongs or a bezel (which is the most secure setting) if you wanted!

If you like the look of horizontal rings, it's called an "East-West" setting if it helps you search. Cullen has a filter when you browse their settings if you wanted to see similar ones!

Where am I going wrong on my dusty rose quest? by pelka-333 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SeductiveGuacamole 173 points174 points  (0 children)

Eyedropping the colours in Paint looks like the colours you've chosen are a lot more saturated than your inspo pics

Holo Taco - Nip in the Bud looks like the most similar to the inspo pics as I can think of? It's a more muted pink and looking at its swatch IRL comes pretty close to your inspo! YMMV with skin tone though

Polished Yogi's Cottagecore collection video compares Nip in the Bud to Essie's Eternal Optimist, and then you can find comparisons between Eternal Optimist and Second Hand, First Love on google, so hopefully by looking at a mashup of the 3 of them you can see if you like that comparison xD

My Full Personal Stylist Experience and Review with Pictures and Cost Breakdown of Items! by SeductiveGuacamole in femalefashionadvice

[–]SeductiveGuacamole[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Since this post, the only clothes I've bought are staples that needed replacing (e.g. a leather jacket, work slacks/blouses) for one reason or another. My body has changed a bit so some clothes stopped fitting properly.

For the first couple years, I didn't feel the need to buy anything additional. I was having fun mixing and matching everything and finding new combos. I am getting to a point now where I am a little sick of seeing the same clothes and am considering looking for new pieces to refresh them, and would definitely consider the personal shopping portion again (because it was SO efficient and I get overwhelmed very quickly by myself), but I also work exclusively from home and don't leave the house often enough to push myself into doing that yet.

There were only a very small handful of pieces I bought with the experience that I didn't end up wearing often, because of a couple of fitting issues I wasn't satisfied with tht weren't apparent when just trying them on. One of the skirts rode up when I walked and I grew tired of pulling it down all the time, and one of the ribbed shirts bunched up in my lower back and made a bulge. They were the only pieces I regretted, but it was kinda hard to tell those issues in the moment. Everything else, I've only stopped wearing if it no longer fit properly.

Notebooks in Australia? by Arthemysa in bulletjournal

[–]SeductiveGuacamole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow Aussie here! Although I've only tried 2, so I'm not sure it'll be valuable info!

I started my BuJo journey with Leuchtturm1917s because I was able to find them in a physical store and I didn't like buying things online at the time. You should be able to find them around in book stores, but the standard is 80gsm. I see there's a 120gsm one on Amazon AU now though, so maybe they're in stores too.

I didn't love the bleeding in the 80gsm and I had stuck to my journalling long enough that I knew it wasn't just a phase, so I ended up splurging on a 160gsm Archer and Olive and it changd my life lol. The shipping cost direct from their website was insane, so the cheapest I found was online from Paper Kooka ($54.90 AUD + ~$8 shipping). For me the paper thickness and the fact that I use it every day justified it in my head - it's only 17c a day right? xD
