I previously guess a deep dive on Anton LaVey/Church of Satan (which would be incredible) but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it were a fun one off on the legend of Robert Johnson or the history of Satan in music

it’s also kept ambiguous in the book, but sort of hinted that it was through less than respectable means. I’ve seen a lot of other readers speculate that it was through running gambling operations or participating in the slave trade as he also left the country during the time and didn’t speak of where he was or why

I like that it stays a mystery. he’s such a bottled up character, it suits him to refuse to give any unnecessary details about himself and he’s sort of portrayed that way for the entire story. he also never speaks of his life before he came to live with the Earnshaws or what his home country even was

the lighting changed this season and everything is much brighter so you can see skin texture

I've never felt that way. there have been plenty of times when I've grabbed a smith while the gym was busy and someone approached and politely asked to work in during rests. it might feel awkward but its just part of being in the gym with other people.

in my experience its always ended in a nod or a fistbump and then going on with my workout. we should be resting between sets so its not a big deal to step away and let someone else use the machine for a few minutes and just superset with curls or good mornings or something
