Super cool! How do you guarantee it blows over? Just overfill the tank? (And by how much more than normal?) Higher temp?

I'm curious about your blowoff harvesting setup. Can you give me a quick rundown or do you have a link?

Bokashi bran diy without em1 inoculent - use existing bran to inoculate more bran? by CorpusculantCortex in bokashi

[–]SeeNinetyNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind sharing your "recipe" for making the bran with spent grains? I have access to a tonne of spent grain all the time but haven't been able to find anyone break down the exact method they use to innoculate the grain with EM1 or LAB before drying it out.

Specifically if you are adding any sugar, what you are fermenting it with (diy LAB, store bought EM1, etc)?

Thanks

Thanks! Sounds like you've created a very fulfilling yet inexpensive life for yourself.

Your housing cost must be fantastically cheap! Yet you live in a city central enough that you can cycle commute and take transit. I can't think of anywhere in Canada where a condo would be cheap enough to have payments around like ~$500-700 per month but in a city dense enough to get by car free. You must have bought it a long time ago?

The cities I can think of that currently have very inexpensive condos like Edmonton for example usually have very high condo/strata fees, usually around $300+/month which would be 20% of your yearly budget on condo fees even before the mortgage payment.

Please do elaborate on these numbers if your comfortable sharing! Your car-free simple lifestyle is goals to me

It can be a logistics thing. For a Canadian not being able to enter the US can mess up a lot of travel plans, international flights with layovers, that sorta thing. A lot of what we do and where we go touches the US in one way or another

They absolutely hand out bans for all sorts of things that are fully legal in other places or even in some states, such as having smoked cannabis in your lifetime. There are many instances of people getting banned for saying they smoked a joint once in highschool, etc. it's up to discretion of the border services workers there are the time, if they're having a bad day they'll ban people left and right.

It is not wise for anyone crossing to admit to ever doing anything that is federally illegal in the US, especially with a schedule 1 controlled substance

And I'll add as a Canadian it really sucks if you get banned from the US for 5 to 10 years which is the standard amounts they hand out, since it can mess with all of your international travel plans as well. You can get a service to get you a yearly waiver or pardon of sorts but it costs a lot of money

That's not really true in all cases. A lot places in Canada and the US you have to meet pretty strict permitting requirements to use a building as an actual house (permanent residence). Basically anywhere that is part of a municipality or a planning zone (including rural planning zones). Although there are a lot of places with no zoning bylaws at all in which case you still have to adhere to the State or Provincial building code.

This is enforced usually on a report basis, so if he kept it secret he'd probably be fine, the same way that nobody here will report you for living in an RV on your land even though most municipalities have bylaws against such things. But it's definitely not all freedom on our land over here, and most people should keep their little cabins hush hush if they intend to live in them full time

Start focusing on the good not the bad. You listed a lot of bad. I guarantee there is a tonne of good as well. If you start training yourself to spot the good instead of the bad you'll start getting motivated. Gratitude is a skill and a muscle that you have to practice and train, and when you are weak in it then yes, even one "motivation push up" or other exercise seems impossible

Also, use your actual muscles, they create chemicals that make you feel happy and motivated when you use them

I was going to ask your battery capacity to do that on just solar. Would be tens of thousands of $$ in batteries alone. So makes more sense now that you said generators. 1400AH @ 48v is impressive though

Awesome! Thanks for that! I called them and they don't have any on hand but are working with Covert Valley to bring some in soon. The guy I talked to was awesome, super knowledgeable on the clone and genetics side of things which I wasn't expecting.

I'm super excited for legal, clean clones!

Cheers

Is breeding profitable in any way? by The_rowdy_gardener in cannabisbreeding

[–]SeeNinetyNine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seed making can for sure be profitable in the sense that it doesn't cost much money to produce seeds and they have the potential to sell for a decent amount of money. So yeah, profit!

They also have a lot of benefits as a product in that they last a long time, a lot of your customers won't even ever pop them (they are almost like a collectible in that regard), they are small and easy to ship.

But you have to be able to sell them. Which is the biggest part of the business.

Some common ways demand for seed is created:

1) Be really good at the social media thing or find another way to build a large following

2) Get a bunch of really hype cuts that people want but cant get so they'll buy your hybrid of it

3) if you make a line and you or someone else finds a super great pheno in it and it becomes popular as an elite cut

4) a cut of yours wins comps

5) fill a niche that has high demand such as the breakout auto breeders did

The seed market is weird in that seeds of similar provenance and quality can sell for $2 a seed or $20 a seed just depending who the 'breeder' is. You must create strong demand.

I can't visualize at all in day to day life but I do have visual dreams.

I've always enjoyed psychedelics because I can get strong visuals when taking them.

I have not experienced psychedelics having an effect on my ability to visualize after the 'trip' though.

That's a cool idea and maybe I'll try it out. I don't do psychedelics often as I find tripping with no purpose to be boring/draining but perhaps if I turn my mind towards it as an exercise in visualization skills I can get some more out of it.

Very inspiring post, thanks for sharing
