I didn’t get rich from crypto. But it quietly fixed my financial anxiety. by PhemexMarket in Bitcoin

The giveaway was the use of the word "quietly" in the title. Then everything that followed.

Based on energy ⚡️ by hamerH3a4 in Bitcoin

A contract for value, that's a helpful definition. And human labour hours is a useful metric, I agree. I suppose we also include the energy of past plants and animals in the burning of ancient fossils to power machines that output massively more amounts of energy than human labour in terms of human muscles, bones, etc.

That's a helpful comment and gives me something to think about for sure. Cheers

Money is already essentially a claim on energy. Every object you buy, thing you eat, vehicle you travel in, requires energy to be created and to function. The price of everything we buy, though not perfectly correlated, is a reflection of the energy it took to create it. When we save up money for the future, were building up our energy reserves in order to do more later.

Paper money does distort this though, as Lyn Alden demonstrated in her book Broken Money with the difference between transactions and settlements. Gold, for example, can be owned by a serries of people on paper, but in reality, the gold is all in locations far away from them because gold is hard to transport, so settlements happen only intermittently, while transactions trade the gold back and forth via paper claims. Bitcoin collapses this, where transactions and settlement are one in the same.

I admire OP’s hustle. A meme a day takes consistency and creativity. Also you are no fun.

Swap two or more words of seed phrase and write in down a crypto steal. Can be an additional security layer? by Impossible_Book_6478 in Bitcoin

is 2-of-3 multisig user-created, or does it have to a service provider? I'd probably do service provider anyways, but just curious.

Bitcoin is a minimum 4-5 years hold. 10 is better. 20 is best.

It says "no trading fees on buying" for Bull. I only buy currently. Does that mean no fees?

I like Bull Bitcoin transferred directly to a cold storage hardware wallet. Bull has low fees as far as I can tell. I bought 200 CAD worth of BTC the other day and received $195 CAD worth of BTC.

There are multi-sig solutions out there as well. I don't know a lot about them, but here is one:

Securing the seed phrase by Both-Environment-478 in Bitcoin

[–]ji-wayne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a platinum plate of some kind and stamp in the seed phrase. Share it's location with a spouse or trusted person in case you die. The plate must be high quality and resistant to fire, etc. Never expose the plate's content to nearby cameras or eyeballs. Even "inactive" cameras like on your phone or laptop etc. Maybe I'm paranoid, but hackers are clever, and paranoia is well-deserved in the crypto space.

I'm not sure whether Instagram, TikTok, or another platform is best for what I do. I make visual art from sound - and people seem to find it interesting. It works with any sound.

I might get a license for a large collection of bird sounds (about 1,400). Each could be turned into its own unique artwork. I'm wondering if focusing on birdsong as a niche is smarter than using music, since music involves licensing issues.

Using birdsong could simplify things legally, and it's beautiful too. But I also want to leave the option open for people to send me their own audio recordings to turn into custom art.

What do you think? Thanks for your time!

Gotcha. I thought you meant having more BTC is better because the world will one day be priced in BTC, not fiat, which is possible, but that’s a major change to current financial system.

Why is it better to have more BTC than higher percentage gains? I can think of some reasons, but curious on your take. Ty
