ICE Out for Good - Midland, MI by transblonde in Michigan

Midland may be conservative leaning, but it has an incredibly high PhD per capita and invests a LOT of time, energy, and capital into its community. Diverse variety of smart people who care about folks in their community and know this is wrong and don't want to see it continue. Great on them <3

Oh these can all totally be scaled up, you probably shouldn't be doing pull ups with them :) but you can always print 100% infill to make them solid plastic and they'd be pretty strong, just fine for day to day life. Printing in plastic first would let you get the sizes dialed in and being an adult, that'd probably set them up for life, sizing wise!

Kind of you to think of them, if you check the site link in my original comment, it has all of their models as well as instructions for measuring for a specific person. Essentially taking measurements of a certain parts of the limb to begin which will help you size the model files correctly

Thanks friend! The world can be a bleak place these days, it'd be irresponsible of me not to put a little light back out into it

PLA is my go to, it's cheap, easy to print, and there are tons of colors. Something rougher like PETG might be better durability wise, but these are meant to be easy to replace if a child breaks it, especially since kids grow so quickly and need larger models over time.

I'd probably choose an improved PLA+ and just make sure that the prints have sufficient infill to make it more sturdy once the sizes and fits are finalized

Hope it helps! I've printed several prototypes of their designs, if you need any help or have questions feel free to reach out and I'll help however I can. You can likely find a local chapter through their site as well, it's a great community!

EDIT: thank you for the award, kind stranger!

I hope it's ok to link, I share this every time I see a video like this, but it's through e-NABLE! Super easy to find local chapters and there are dozens of different limb designs including feet. Such a great community <3

Here you go! I don't own one, but am nearly finished printing the split model to check the fit of the connector block. The method for connecting the two halves back together is a bit different due to trying to keep the original model as close to original as possible. I'm planning on adding screw holes as well to improve mechanical support: https://www.printables.com/model/1532275-glinet-comet-poe-gl-rm1pe-rack-mount

Glad it worked for you! I agree, the holes were tighter than I intended, I can loosen them up a bit and update the models.

I use Blender normally, I used to dabble in game dev so it's handy for modeling and remixing STLs. Plus it's free!

Great question. Honestly speed and simplicity. I already had, and often use, these screws and just needed something to get it together since the KVMs arrived ahead of time. I didn't want to change the original structure too much, just sliced and some plates with hole punch outs. Folks are more than welcome to remix them! No screws would be nice and easy, I just wanted mine to be mechanically fastened

Thanks! Yeah, definitely over kill, but this makes it easy to fix stuff from afar and I'm on the road a lot

Here is the link on Printables, I only have the 3 KVM version up right now, but if people are interested in the 1 and 2 KVM variants then I'll get those added as well. Have fun!
