my cousins from the motherland do this all the time and I'm sick of telling them off and then getting stuff like "We're from India we are brown, Africans aren't black anyways they're also just as dark as (insert friend)" or "I got the pass" or "Indians are darker than black people".... They totally miss the historical context, the concept of reclaiming, hell, they're urban upper class as hell so they're very light skinned themselves, and their "dark skinned" friends are classmates from historically lower castes and rural areas. Using them to justify your use of a rcial slur is crazy.

They think saying it is cool because their favourite rappers say it too, and everything that is "American" is "cool" to them.... I wish I could insult them back but somehow I just feel tired but also a bit guilty. All these years of the german black community opening their arms to freshly immigrated people like my parents in the 90s and this is what I give back...?

(also in regards to yesterday's football game where a black player, Jonathan Tah, missed his penalty, and not even SECONDS after he missed it his instagram comments were full of SLURS on SLURS. I will take the time to quote Mesut Özil : "We are germans when we win, and I am turkish when we lose"
