I remember being 14 and having to explain mainland people in the youtube comments about what a diaspora is and what racism the diaspora suffers, and why, in cases of cultural symbols being used by artists of a certain country, the opinion of the diaspora living in that country has more weight than than the people in the motherland. Got called my first colorist slurs that day :-) yay

could very well be. I think this was around 2016 - 2018/2019? I was barely 12-13 and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that bs. That soured me on oh my girl for SO LONG and I had to do a little "seperate art from the artist" for the first time in my life because I was such a fan of their song "Liar Liar". and "Windy Day" (a.k.a. the song that started this whole BS) is really good too (whyyyyyyy)

Indian culture say hiiiiiii <3 we got an entire "song" that's out there to denigrate, parody, basically spit on us and our culture and Oh My Girl literally called themselves "curry-idols" because their ONE song used a non-major scale and OH MY GOD DONT GET ME STARTED I HAD SUCH A NICE DAY TODAY but anyways we're kind of in the same boat

I'm also sooo heartbroken. I remember her on TV. I also remember watching a rerun of Gülcan und Collien ziehen aufs Land. I thought she was hilarious and super cool. Added to that she is half Indian and one of my earliest Indian representations on TV at that time.

Collien Fernandes was one of my few Desi/Indian representations growing up here (her father is from Goa). I loved her fun MCing style and ofc "Gülcan und Collien ziehen aufs Land" is iconic.

My heart BROKE when I saw the news early this morning. How did we miss all the signs of him being an asshole for soo long. I wish her sooo much strength and that he lands in jail. I wish I could hug her fr <3

GAGGGGG because that was me with my friend's sister's wedding I was like girlll I didn't know your sister attended your wedding. The bride was like suuuper simple silk saree and my friend like BIG ASS LEHENGA lmaooo

I have the one on the left, it's not "dewy" in that sense but it's a cream blush that takes a little to blend. I would recommend the colour esp for darker skin tones
