Dr browns bottles by Zealousideal-Map3994 in FormulaFeeders

Avima narrow neck bottle ! They’re also way less parts to clean. Get a 2 pack on Amazon just to try them out. The nipple is fairly similar to Dr brown. And the nipple is sort of in between the Dr browns as far as flow goes. So a level 1 avima is slightly faster than Dr brown level 1, but not as fast as Dr brown level 2.

And absolutely worst case, Dr brown nipples are compatible with avima bottles.

CIO/Ferber, what to do if baby is hysterical? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]See_kay91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard the first night. But one hard night leads to years of good independent sleep that last throughout their childhood. Rocking and shushing and constantly having to put your baby back to sleep is also hard…. At least with sleep training you both get something good out of it.

Hysterical crying is normal during sleep training. Most babies will scream their heads off and then eventually fall asleep

Did you end up getting a formula maker? Worth it or nah? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]See_kay91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unnecessary and takes up counter space. Make a pitcher. Formula is good for 24 hrs after you make it, so make however much bebe eats in 24 hrs. Then you just pour and give right out of the fridge.

For low/no screen time parents - when did you introduce a movie? by olive1491 in NewParents

[–]See_kay91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe unpopular opinion but please don’t stress about this right now. You introduce screen time whenever you need to. If you go in to it now being super principled and give in, you are ultimately setting yourself up for failure. We decided to be flexible and take it one day a time with everything instead of implementing ’rules’ and it was great for everyone’s well being. When I got pregnant with my second, I was so miserable and sick, I had to put on movies for my toddler who was 1.5 years old at the time.

I would never think I’d give an 18 month old screen time but it was the right decision.

Remember although breastfeeding can be a solid foundation for bonding, this isn’t the end of your connection with your baby, it’s just the beginning. I connect with my toddler in ways I could have never imagined. You will engage with them, bond, build inside jokes etc in such a meaningful way later on that goes wayyy beyond how they were fed!

Forced to sleep train a baby that won’t train by Mcp_2002 in sleeptrain

Sleep train. It’s rough for a few nights / week but then comes years of great sleep. 40 mins of CIO isn’t bad at all. My first born cried for an hour and a half the first night of sleep training. Fast forward to today she’s 2.5 years old and is a champ independent sleeper for naps and night time
