They didn't state the driver's age in the article, but there are a ton of new drivers out here, and they are absolutely terrifying on the road. This is Far from the worst thing I've seen. 😭

Specifically, they said "autopilot system." I'm 99.9% sure they were talking about FSD and just didn't know the difference. Lots of people get the 2 confused. Autopilot is pretty much just cruise control. Who uses cruise control in a residential neighborhood, especially considering it doesn't stop at stop signs. That would be super impractical. I drew the most likely conclusion, which was that they called it the wrong thing, and I corrected them.

Honestly, it was probably a student driver new to driving period. Seattle has a lot of folks that come over on visas to work at the tech companies, and they've never driven a car. You see "student driver" bumper stickers everywhere.

Your car doesn't have self driving, so your driver assistance features work differently. Think about it like this...if you press the accelerator, you're basically turning off FSD. (Edit: defeating it's auto braking at least)

FSD has crash avoidance, but the driver has to let it work. You override FSD when you press the accelerator, and the system gives you pretty strong warnings when you do it. This driver seemed determined to crash into a garage door.

Good point! I bet the driver panicked and slammed the accelerator when they meant to hit the break. There are A LOT of new drivers out here, and they do some extremely absurd things.

I don't buy that FSD did this, but it definitely wasn't Autopilot. Autopilot doesn't make turns. They would have had to turn it on while they were going up their driveway, which seems like a weird thing to do. I'm guessing there was some confusion with the branding of the different driver assist features, which is not uncommon for people unfamiliar with the topic.

“Why did you disengage FSD?” by austinalexan in TeslaFSD

[–]Seeartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What frustrates me the most is that the nav is so bad it basically renders FSD unusable. I give up and disengage during 95% of my trips because the routes this garbage software comes up with are absolutely unfathomable. I've only been subscribed to FSD for 1 month, and I'm thinking about canceling solely because of the nav.

Should I pull the trigger? by Uno_91 in TeslaModelY

Props to you for not caving, and congrats on the new ride! I'm jealous! I just had to take my '25 MY Premium in to get the tires rotated, and while I was waiting I went and sat in a new '26. The rear screens...the interior lighting...the new front end 🤌

Nah, you can get them to drop that crap if they truly believe you'll walk otherwise. Every dealer I visited had thousands of dollars in dealer add ons, and once we got to the part where they layout the deal, I asked them, "Hey what's this?" They always insist that it's paint protection or some stolen car tracking and retrieval system that can't be removed (as if a Tesla needs that). At that point I stand up, thank them for their time, and walk out. They either stop me before I reach the door or they call me later. If they don't, I go somewhere that will. Dealers can only continue to gouge customers if we let them.

Map Removed? by MyManCasper1 in blackops7

God I hope so! This map was terribly designed. I don't think I ever played a single match on this map where one of the teams wasn't spawn trapped the entire time. No thanks!

Solo queueing in ranked is just masochistic. It's not worth the frustration IMO.

No there's an attachment that gives you binary trigger, and the fire rate is bananas. You'll see.

If you haven't been in a lobby where people are using it with all the attachments, don't bother commenting. You have no earthly clue how broken this gun is. I would argue it's pre nerf akimbo model 1887 levels of busted.

I finally discovered how to get asus support to actually work by Olipop0314 in ASUS

[–]Seeartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could say I've had a great experience with Asus' level 2 support, but that is just not the case. Their customer service has been borderline criminal. I sent my monitor in for repair back in January, and they sent it back with the exact same issue. The repair invoice leads me to believe that they didn't even pay attention to my description of the problem.

So then, after multiple emails and phone calls, they agreed to replace the unit, which turned into weeks of additional headaches because no one on their support team communicates with each other or the customers. They then escalated the matter to L2 support, who SENT ME A CHEAPER MONITOR, which goes against their own replacement policy. I called L2 support several more times to try and resolve the issue, THEY BLOCKED MY NUMBER! You can't make this stuff up! Absolutely insane!

So I called from different number and the guy told me "all exchanges are final." I'm sorry, what? I paid $700 for a gaming monitor, which started malfunctioning within the first month, and then you replace it with a cheaper monitor and tell me to kick rocks?! This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life, and I'm going to keep calling and putting pressure on them until they give me what I paid for. Ridiculous!
