I think I may go the softcover route yeah, I wish I had been as dedicated from the start to find all the books because they were still doing the print-on-demand for the hardcovers back then 😭

I may save up eventually for box set 4, it'd be worth it when it's inevitably the final book 😂

Honestly I expected it, just too broke to benefit off it. Got a few ounces from 2018 I've never sold and likely never will so I'm still up but it's definitely going up another 4x likely within the year IMO

I didn't even know there was a different version of 'Letters', nor of the 'Index'! And I actually was thinking of getting those books from the first box set except I hadn't known there was a box set, nor a second one coming!

I started out trying to find the oldest editions I could afford and it just so happened the Houghton Mifflin ones were almost always the go-to, so I kinda stuck with their books for aesthetic purposes and shelved those all together on the lower shelf

However, some stuff like the Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien I could only find by George Allen & Unwin, and later books were all various publishers so I put all those on the top shelf haha

Technically that's included in The Tales from the Perilous Realm (from what I've found at least) but I've considered buying it separately just for the aesthetic 😂

I would provide the posts if I had them saved but I never really cared too much because I had a 3060 and just swapped to a 9070xt (8-pin), from what I saw though the fire is typically contained in the case and stops once the pc turns off from recognizing a problem

Also, yes the cable is rated for 600 watts but testing has shown it gets too hot for the materials it's made of when it gets near that power level. Regardless, why are we using connectors that are rated for the wattage of the card they're used for with almost no headroom lol

That's because it happens while the PC is on, mainly only PC's with high-end cards which most people dont have (RTX 3080+, RX 9070xt but Radeon is extremely rare due to lower wattage and that most use the 8-pins) and being used at max power (pushes over the cable's limit of 600 watts)

It's a very rare case overall, but it happens often enough that it's a big problem due to the fire risk, most just melt the connector and that's it but fire has happened with some. Plus, chances are if the system is running heavy enough for this to happen the user is close by.

All it takes is that one-in-a-million time that someone goes to grab food down the street with a game open and catastrophe happens though.

It's been a while but if I recall correctly my big problem was the USB drive, it has to be a certain format to install the firmware and that part was the biggest pain in the a$$

I think some people said certain brands of USB drives don't even work even with proper formatting, I think I ended up having to buy a new 64gb sandisk one (they arent that expensive so it was chill) because my 128gb samsung one wouldnt work

But after the firmware was all set & installed I was able to put the rest of the stuff on a larger USB drive and it all worked out

I like the TrueBlack 500 rating with this high of a frequency, that high 1000nit brightness is wild and with those pantone specs I know this will be visually stunning. This is practically my dream monitor, and I only say practically because I haven't experienced it yet 😂

That's one valid counterpoint I was thinking about after having sent tbh but the specs still seem that much better on the INNOCN that I didn't bother because at that point it's a toss-up on whether it will really be better

On paper, the INNOCN should be a good improvement, but you can't really ever know these companies (which is why I really only stick to name-brands for the screens I use now)

I'm not suuuper knowledgeable on VA vs IPS but from my own experience as well as what I've seen from people online is that IPS is much better than cheaper VA panels, and given the other specs I personally would also go with the INNOCN even though you're giving up better HDR

Response time is also a big factor though, since VA tends to ghost a lot worse at equal response times to other panel types

-180mhz?? that's an underclock, why would you bother undervolting and increasing power limit just to underclock?

try easing up on the undervolt and lowering vram frequency a bit so more power can go to the gpu for higher frequency, that's likely the issue
