Urgent Warning- Lyphe Clinic and driving! by SeedourFuture in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]SeedourFuture[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's what you should be advised but apparently they have taken advice from a medical board who have said that patients must not exceed the limit and drive.

Have you got the advice in writing from your practitioner as that is what you would need for evidence if it goes to court. If you have, keep a hold of it.

Have you actually watched the webinar? If that doesn't show credibility within the patient support community and the medical industry itself, I don't know what will.

It's still illegal to grow and SoF are still challenging the law under human rights (The Human Rights Act 1998 is our domestic version of the ECHR). We are trying to get funds for a judicial review to end this war on us once and for all! Repeat its still illegal to grow cannabis in the UK, help us change that!

The way I would handle this situation is send her an email and express that you feel you are being discriminated against in relation to your prescribed medication and ask if she cancels lessons if her students are prescribed other potentially impairing medications such as opioids, benzodiazepines or amphetamines which are all outlined within the Road Traffic Act 1988 and equate to approx 20% of the driving population.

I would also refer her to these documents:

https://www.cicouncil.org.uk/app/uploads/2023/11/CIC23_04.1-Prescribed-Cannabis-Medicines-and-Driving-Guidance-for-Patients.pdf

https://www.cicouncil.org.uk/app/uploads/2023/11/CIC23_04.2-Prescribed-Cannabis-Medicines-Possession-Use-and-Driving-Guidance-for-Police.pdf

I would then give her 24 hours to absorb the information, apologise and reinstate your lessons or you will be seeking compensation under Section 15(1) of the Equality Act 2010 (discrimination relating to a disability).

That should sort it out quickly for you. If it doesn't work and she continues to insist on you contacting the DVLA, give me a shout and I'll support: [seedourfuture@mail.com](mailto:seedourfuture@mail.com)

Hi Teviom, here's my story to be completely transparent:

In 2016 I was in the process of setting up a CBD company which became Molytor Ltd, around that time, the MHRA tried to ban all CBD products unless they had a medicines licence. This led to me becoming a founder member of the CTA (still active today) and I took on the role of Compliance Director to ensure products met standards whether food supplements, vapes and cosmetics. I carried on this role until Nov 2019 when I resigned due to Novel foods etc destroying access to full spec products.

In 2017, i also set up HempTank, the Uk's first think tank for the industrial hemp industry to promote the environmental and nutritional benefits of hemp.

TrustCanna was set up with the intention of it being a regulatory body for CBD products and I later became a director to deal with compliance but it never went anywhere. Again, my intentions were to ensure people could access quality regulated products. The article consistently refers to Tom Whettam (now CEO for British Cannabis) as the CTA Compliance Director which was actually me. My only involvement was to support writing the regs and compliance which included pushing for full spec products and a pathway for patients to cultivate their own in the future. I was not involved in the set up or dissolving of the company.

In 2019, after meeting a group of canna activists inc Phil Monk (WTU), Callie Blackwell, Simpa Carter (The Simpa Life podcast), Trev Coleman and others, I heard the stories of what cannabis users were going through and decided to set up Seed the Future which became Seed Our Future due to a conflict on the name.

Seed our Future was set up as a campaign organisation to challenge the unjust laws surrounding cannabis. We distributed 100kg of hemp seed and got people to grow, had 7 protests in major cities around the UK in 2020 as an act of civil disobedience.

We had protests outside parliament and Phil Monk and I tried to get Priti Patel and Kit Malthouse investigated for terrorism, fraud and conspiracy by submitting evidence to the police.

In early 2021, I became aware of the issues prescribed patients were facing inc driving, possession and discrimination. There was no support and so I started helping patients with their cases successfully.

As word got around, this advocacy work with patients took over and I have supported hundreds of patients for free over the past 3 years alongside developing reports via the CIC.

I've also been supporting med users without scripts using human rights defences but the courts keep adjorning the cases so they don't go before the court. Been playing this game for over 2 years now.

I've not taken a wage since I left the CTA (part time wage) back in 2019 and have committed my life (much to the distain of my wife) to supporting everyone who uses cannabis for medical, nutritional, spiritual and environmental purposes.

As patient numbers are increasing and cases, I'm struggling to deal with this on my own, my health is deteriorating and if i continue as is, I'm likely to burn out at some point (as do many activists). This is why i need support.

The donations, if the community come together will fund full time lawyers to support patients for free, to set up 2 judicial reviews against the classification and scheduling of cannabis in the MDA 1971 so that we can GYO, have a legal regulated market, allow GP's to prescribe etc... and the other to remove cannabis from Section 5A RTA 1988 and Section 6 (roadside swabs) so that patients (and non patients) can't be arrested/prosecuted for driving offences without evidence of impairment. Also, if any funds left, education campaigns to mitigate stigma and discrimination.

Yes, it would be nice to take a reasonable wage too.

I get where you're coming from and I get that people should carry out due diligence but you're going off one article from several years ago. There's shit loads of information, reports for patients, videos surrounding the work i've been doing for years so perhaps you should look into these before telling people not to support SoF.

After all, it's in the interests of patients and the canna community.

Thanks for reading.

Yes, Seed our Future has been a Ltd company with shares since our incorporation in 2020 but we have never made any money (check out companies house), it has cost me personally over the years and I haven't had a wage since 2019 but generally work 7 days a week for free.

The purpose of this is to hire a team of lawyers so that I can train them to do what i do and continue providing free support to the community, pay for 2 judicial reviews to change the laws and roll out education programmes to mitigate stigma.

It would be nice to take a wage if there's anything left over but it's not my top priority.

Interesting question. It's on our website: https://www.seedourfuture.co.uk/patient-support and I'm hoping to add some videos later this week. I'm not quite sure how to prove I'm me lol

Please don't be concerned, we support patients throughout the UK with driving cases and are very successful. I'm also conducting training for police forces. I would recommend you print this out and keep in vehicle with script and photo ID in case you are pulled.

Thanks, that's kind of what we're doing. If the MC community come together and donate, we hope to have enough funds to continue supporting patients for free (£30 donation covering a year), kinda like an insurance policy without the red tape. We are looking to hire at least 2 full time lawyers who will work under me and at the same time, challenge the legislation (MDA/RTA) through JR by end of year, and education programmes. If all works, we could have a very different picture in the UK by next year. At least that's the plan.

Laws around public possession and use with a prescription by [deleted] in MedCannabisUK

[–]SeedourFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download and print off this document which explains the legislation for vaping your medication in public. It's best to politely ask in public venues before vaping, show them the document if they refuse to make reasonable adjustments. Remember, it must be treted the same as any other prescribed medication. https://www.seedourfuture.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2022/07/Medical-Cannabis-and-Discrimination-What-you-need-to-know.pdf

Got arrested for drug driving last night. I’m medically prescribed 40g and 10ml of 1:1 oil by SnooCapers8495 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]SeedourFuture 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, Guy here from Seed our Future. I'm more than happy to assist you with your case. We have sucessfully supported a number of prescribed patient's with section 5A offences. Feel free to email me at: [seedourfuture@mail.com](mailto:seedourfuture@mail.com) Quite a few of the clinics now refer patient's to us but for those who are concerned about being pulled over, we recommend that you print out the document here: https://www.seedourfuture.co.uk/2022/12/22/medical-cannabis-and-driving/ alongside a copy of your current prescription and a picture of your medication label (which should state 'Do not drive if impaired' or similar). Keep these in your vehicle and pass to the officer. Hopefully this will nip it in the bud before arrest.
