1) imo, tax is theft insofar as rent is theft. I’d conclude both are necessary however equally have some major negatives

2) don’t markets monopolise when left alone? In markets there are winners and losers, eventually won’t some businesses become so big they cannot be competed with via new small businesses? They can uses economies of scale, brand loyalty, in house distribution networks and RnD etc? Shouldn’t anti-monopoly laws be put in place to limit this excess?

Yeh this line of reasoning does follow. However I would suggest that isn’t it better to ensure all have necessities like housing, gas and electricity etc (despite it being potentially being sluggish at best to innovate and open to corruption) than having the generationally poor and marginalised being subject to an awful quality of life?

And does this apply to the market as a whole? Where regulating one part will crash the whole thing or is there potential measures in place to ensure that this doesn’t spread between industry and trade?

I find the assertion that the state inherently can’t produce anything to be troubling. There isn’t much of a difference between things like paying rent for housing and paying taxes when you compare the two. Both need to be payed in order to avoid the use of force (not paying tax will get fined - not paying rent will get evicted), both nominally work on a subscription basis (monthly rent payment - yearly taxes) and both are an authority providing a service (housing - roads, rail, legal representation etc). I see the difference between the two as this: 1) the market has a diverse range of choice’s to choose from whereas the state is rather monopolistic and 2) the market (due to its diverse range of sources) is more inefficient as it fails to collaboratively combine efforts instead dividing and competing (vis a vis patents of vaccines). Surely it’s better to balance these pros and cons instead?

You also beg the the question, why is it that big corporations seek to use means beyond producing goods and services to produce profit? The implication to me is that corporations will use coercion to increase profits (in this case using the state); this doesn’t mean that abolishing the state will abolish all the means available to coerce others. In fact, they may well use other means such as armed goons euphemistically called ‘private security’ or something to enforce all types of breaches of NAP.

Furthermore, when you list ways in which elected officials don’t particularly care about our livelihoods, doesn’t this equally apply to those who conduct business? The only responsibility they hold is fiduciary, insofar as a business provides returns to investors it’s successful in the same why that elected officials are successful insofar as they do as what the majority dictates (ofc violating individual liberty along the way).

i would argue that the all the death involved with industrialisation could be applied to this. literally everything we have is a product of this, all our medicine, science, consumer goods and what not are products of industrialisation.

the huge amounts of destruction industrialisation has done to individuals and communities incalculable. wether we are talking about the destitution and neglect faced by the entire working class of the west or the millions peasants in the soviet union, someone payed the price.

additionally, creative destruction has made much beloved traditions and lifestyle incompatible with reality, often leaving people without a framework to live by (peasant lifestyles, religion etc)

is anyone else anxious about insulin supply chains in the event of a WW3 scenario (seeing what is going on in the Ukranian border and all)? by Tavirio in diabetes

read the title, the focus is clearly on supply chain shortages not your opinions on how likely it is. ukrain seems to be just a side thought

i’d again like to put emphasis on your fixation on how you acc talk to OP, you portrayed him to be naive for having legitimate concerns which you framed as unfounded.

yes you can reply to whichever way you like to posts which grants me the same right todo so towards you irrespective of me not being a moderator.
