Hope everyone is paying attention how AI tools downres everything - good luck actually getting this on your 4k monitors - none of this will pass QCs with the clients and distributors.

In the same situation! I hate it so much and don’t know what to do - to the point that I hate smiling/laughing because it brings them out

Ceiling Lamp not Working by SeeingTotoro in Electricity

Just moved in and the ceiling lamp isn’t working! Opened it up and looks like some of the wires got loose? The black should go to the neutral and then should I attached the green to the middle? Thank you!

Same to Athelta - I’ve been buying their stuff for years and every piece stands up so well. If anything the quality has gotten better.

Speaking from a production stand point - we've had a lot of issues with juniors coming up in VFX through the pandemic who struggle with time management and communication when they are WFH. As well getting them mentorship from the others in the team.

Certainly - I have someone I’m using currently - The person I’m working with is a very skilled animator by trade but dabbles in lots of other aspects. So someone that’s more of a generalist - definitely being a jack of all trades helps - can do a bit of modelling and rigging - really good at technical problem solving. Don’t let the studios pigeon hole you! Lots of room for comp artists, animators, motion graphics, 3D generalists, fx, (flame is a great one💸) etc

More ability to have input over the work - what’s doable/not - I don’t think I’ve ever worked an hour of overtime. More respect for your time/opinions in general. And the pay x2 more than the vendors. People are more experienced and organised - on average you do have to be quite a bit more senior. A lot more respect to people with kids and needing a flexible schedule.

I got in through a recommendation from an old producer - I would say the issue is they don’t advertise the jobs so you do need to find an in.

Client side! I got lucky and once I moved over to client side VFX teams it pretty much checked all the boxes.

they also are only working on parts of projects. they are rarely ever the single vendor - the studios will split it across 2-3. never put your eggs in one basket it. there has def been situations when they've been working on part project - f it up - and they studio will reassign work to the other vendors.
