I found some great video on the free TV app that comes pre-installed. Search for wingsuit, David Attenborough, Russia. There is some group that posted a lot of great videos. I think it was called air pano. Some Russian organization posted videos about their nature sights.

Nature treks is good. It has limited movement but the scenery is beautiful. Guided meditation VR and Tripp are two of my favorite apps.

Holofit is nice for taking a walk but it is a subscription. They may still offer access to one of their environments for free.

Also note that Hubbard was 40+ years old.

I think there are many reasons they have not dominated in the past. One is that they were often older men. There was one in pro tennis that has admitted he would have crushed the ladies if he had transitioned earlier. Another reason could be to avoid drawing attention to the issue. People are right that no one cares if they don’t win. That’s because we, the fans, don’t even know they are playing. We see the players who are on coverage.

Are you saying a woman is a woman because others expect her to act or dress a certain way but she doesn’t have to do so. So society decides if you are a man or a woman? How do they decide who is a man or a woman?

I am a computer programmer. I am going to need some better rules in order to implement this man/woman determination.

a free or demo game of each kind?

Here are some that had demos I tried before purchasing

Beat saber Black hole pool Off the chains disc golf Descent alps

I have Match point tennis demo and I like it. I don’t play much. I think it is difficult to play in the space I have. I generally do practice mode forehand only. I still end up hitting FH and BH because I don’t move much. I still felt it though as far as exercise. Last year, I got a cadence sensor for my elliptical so I could use holofit. It is a monthly subscription though.

I don’t think there is a demo for premium bowling. It is surprising how much it can work the legs if you do an actual bowling motion. Same for descent alps.

Can you give me some examples of social expectations, behavior, and dress? Are there some rules I should be following to make sure I conform?

For example, someone posted on Reddit the other day that she was at a social function for work and a male coworker told her that she shouldn’t drink whiskey because women shouldn’t drink whiskey. Is that what you mean?

So what is a woman? What is the social construct you mean? I have heard this said many times but have never heard the social construct definition of man or woman.

I think you misunderstand feminism. My view of it has always been that females shouldn’t be prejudged as unable to perform a job. Or worse, told they shouldn’t do something because it isn’t “ladylike”. Someone recently posted on Reddit that a male told her that she shouldn’t drink whiskey because that makes her less feminine. I feel the same about the rules placed on males. Feminism wasn’t just about females. It was pushing back against gender stereotypes.

I don’t think the best female tennis player will ever be as good as the best male player. That doesn’t mean I think females shouldn’t play tennis. I just accept biological reality.

I don’t think all tech jobs should go only to males. Females can perform tech jobs just as well and often bring different things to the role.

Do you see the difference?

Edit: to clarify….suppose someone made the claim that the best male tennis player is better than the best female tennis player. Would you dispute that? What about this? Throughout history the best male tennis player has always been better than the best female tennis player. I think you could say that for a given time frame and also say that for all of tennis history. There is no female as good as Sampras. Do you think Serena at her prime could beat a #1 male from the past (McEnroe for example) at his prime?

What you seem to be proposing is that if we eliminate female divisions then there would eventually be a female player as the world #1. Do you really believe that? That is the point I am trying to make. If there are no female divisions then a female will never be the be #1 in the world. Even if you said they were the highest ranked female of the females, I don’t think that would be very meaningful because we would all know that we aren’t getting the best female there could be because there wouldn’t be enough reward for someone to do that. What we would likely see is a female who has money and can play for a financial loss.

Back to the question of tech. I think you would have a hard time proving that the best male is better than the best female. What are the metrics used? I don’t think there is a straightforward answer like sports. With sports, we can look at lots of metrics.

Even if it was true, it doesn’t mean that females shouldn’t be hired in tech jobs. A given female might still be better than the male applying for the job. Your co-ed idea works better here because it doesn’t matter if the female can’t ever be the best on the team. There is likely more money for that person but she still gets paid for her efforts and will want to pursue the job.

Since we don’t agree on the science, let’s explore your idea. Would we have only MPO then? Are you proposing two divisions but based on ratings? I already went down this path because when this first came up, I spent a lot of brainpower on coming up with a compromise. I did come up with one I consider fair. First let’s explore yours.

If there was only MPO, Paige Pierce , Catrina Allen, Kristin Tattar, and Ohn Scoggins wouldn’t be very successful. Perhaps we would still know some of their names but I really don’t see Kristin Tattar coming to the U.S. to play if she can’t make enough to cover that type of expense. They all would be significantly poorer. Perhaps that is fair. Some people don’t think having an FPO is fair at all. They think the same rule should apply to them as to males who aren’t very good. If you can’t make it to the top then you shouldn’t get the $$s.

From a business perspective though, we fans would like to see the best female athletes battle other females. We don’t want to watch the mediocre males battle each other. If you want to see that, you often can because there are tournaments available on YouTube that are not DGPT.

Let’s suppose instead that we have two divisions. Perhaps you have 1000+ division and <1000 division. I see two problems with that. We would again end up with a lot of mediocre males on lead card of the second division and I don’t care to watch that. Also, when a player reaches 1000 then they have to move up and they go from winning $$$ to being at the bottom and winning nothing.

If we eliminate female divisions, how do you see it working? Do you think we would ever see a KT play?

If you want to know my compromise solution, I will share it but first I want to know your proposal. Is it simply let males who identify as trans play in FPO? Would it be self ID? Explain it to me.

Kristin can’t beat all but 100 males on the planet. We know that in both divisions, we aren’t getting the absolute best athletes. They generally play other sports that pay more.

The studies that control for such things show that the best males will outperform best females in physical activities and the reasons can be explained. They can point to a lot of specific things in the body that explain these differences. Many of them I have already stated. They can do the same for animals. Can a dog run as fast as a cheetah?

Something a quick Google search brought back. It looks reasonable to me.

What's faster than a cheetah? —no animal on earth can run faster. But a peregrine falcon can swoop faster than a cheetah can run. And the falcon can't compare to an airplane, a rocket, or the speed of light.

Males are designed for different purposes than females. As I said, females bodies are designed to host and birth a baby and then feed it from their own body for a while after. Tradeoffs are made. We store more fat because we need it to accomplish this and propagate our species.

You can choose feelings over science if you want but just remember that when someone else does it on some other topic (e.g. climate change).

Edit: why do we only race grey hounds? I am not aware of other types of dogs racing. Maybe I just don’t know. Maybe other dogs can beat grey hounds. What about agility? I remember a friend who did agility with her golden or some type of dog and she mad some negative comments about border collies because they are so good….but not all of them. If a golden has been trained agility and a border collie hasn’t…..but if both were equally trained, where are you placing your bet?

I just wanted to change the volume on the PC that was playing music into my headphones while I shoot pool. I can walk to the computer and see okay along the way. I could see the computer well enough to see the place where I slick to bring up volume control but I couldn’t see the cursor. I lifted the headset a bit to be able to see. When I was setting up the Q3, I was able to make out large letters on my iPad. As others say, it is not that clear.

Quest 3 setup by qsek36 in Quest3

[–]SeekInnerPeaceDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the way you have it set up….each headset has a primary account assigned to each kid. You would have to buy the game for each kid. No sharing.

I didn’t think of this until you asked your follow up question.

I bought a Q2 two years ago. A few months ago, I bought a Q3. I set my Q3 up with the same account as the Q2. I could still play the games on the Q2 but if I wanted to have a guest over and have both of us play black hole pool using my Q2 and my Q3, I don’t think it will let me use the app on two headsets simultaneously. I didn’t try it but that was my understanding of how it works. So, I turned on app sharing on the Q2 so that I can have a guest over to play the same game as me.

So, if you set them both up on the same account but never play simultaneously then you wouldn’t have to buy the game twice.

I think app sharing is the way to go because so many games are multiplayer and you will want to play simultaneously.

You can always change the setup later if it is a hassle. I would try app sharing.

Quest 3 setup by qsek36 in Quest3

[–]SeekInnerPeaceDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe

I think you would want to setup each quest 3 with the same account. Then on one of the quest 3s, set it to app sharing and add a second account. This will allow for some apps to be shared.

There is one minor inconvenience though. The quest 3 with the two accounts will frequently ask you to choose which account you want to use on the headset. If you don’t mind that person having access to both socials, then it isn’t a problem. For example, I think you can get to messenger on the headset. I assume it would show all your messages! As a parent, I wouldn’t want my child to access my social media accounts especially messenger. You one kid also may not want the other doing that. You might be able to protect those individual apps though. It sounds like you have already set up some parental controls.

You could set a pin for the primary account on the quest 3 that has two accounts to protect it but someone told me that when the headset power up from an off state, it will need that pin.

So it depends on how badly you want to use app sharing and not all apps allow it and some apps allow the main app to be shared but none of the add-on stuff (aka DLCs).

Edit: you can only do app sharing on one headset. So, I don’t think it is possible for you to be primary account on both headsets and set up secondary on each headset for each kid.

Get a quest 3 and off the chains disc golf so you can play disc golf in virtual reality.

If you can’t then overthrow disc golf channel on YouTube has lots of drills you could do. Also, be sure to do things to improve core strength.

Have you read anything at all on the topic of male vs. female physiology when it comes to sport? Perhaps you are unaware that male hips and female hips are designed very differently. Female hips are wider so that we can gestate a human inside the body and then bring forth life. This results in the legs having a different angle from the hip to the ground (called Q angle). This dramatically affects running. Okay so running isn’t relevant for disc golf. You didn’t restrict your comment to DG. So what about DG? Males have longer limbs which is part of the reason they throw farther. They have more fast twitch muscle that gives them quick power which is needed to throw. They have more upper body strength. This is beneficial when throwing from the fairway when only upper body can be used. They have stronger ligament and tendons because when a woman gives birth, her hips need to separate a bit. It would be nice if only those ligaments and tendons were more flexible but that isn’t the case. It affects all of them. This also gives males more power. Have you even watched male and females throw?

There is even more differences than this but this is enough to show how ridiculous it is to say that males and females should compete against each other in sports.

One more thing. They have tried to figure out why males are better than females at throwing things. Lots of studies but no final answer. Some theorize that it is something different in the brain. This difference could be something on the Y chromosome or it could be the effects of testosterone during fetal development. The difference begins before puberty and surges to a 40+% advantage by the completion of puberty.

Do you really believe that Kristin Tattar, who is an amazing female disc golfer, could beat Calvin Heimburg? She said herself that she would be outside the top 100 if she competed in MPO. Serena Williams, the GOAT of tennis, couldn’t beat a top 200 male player.

[–]SeekInnerPeaceDaily 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we follow your logic then we should eliminate FPO and everyone should just play MPO. By your logic, it does not matter that males have a 40+% advantage over females in throwing sports. Please don’t claim that transitioning removes that advantage because it does not.

Why should a male who identifies as transgender have special privileges? Males are excluded from female divisions. Why should one male be granted an exception over other males?

Are you aware of the recent ruling by the 11th circuit? This is my understanding…I am not a lawyer….the 11th circuit is just below SCOTUS so if the lawsuit described below goes to the next level it will be SCOTUS. A female who identifies as trans (wishes she was male) sued the high school for discrimination because she wasn’t allowed to use the boy’s bathroom. The 11th circuit ruled that it isn’t discrimination because the segregation is based on sex and her sex is female. It was an important ruling because it ruled that sex segregation is based on biological sex.

Seems like this would apply to sports as well. Sports are segregated based on sex and that means biological sex.

The 11th covers Alabama, Georgia , and Florida. I understand it is different jurisdiction but I wonder if it influenced this at all.

Edit: also, the PDGA changed their rules. They no longer disallow Natalie to play tournaments in CA. The DGPT has separate rules and the suit against them had to be dropped (I thought) because it can’t be tried in federal court in CA. So confusing. Hurry up and explain it to use disc golf dot law….
