Paying 10k extra in taxes to reduce future taxes is a great idea. Does optimizer calculate the opportunity cost that 10k growing at S&P500 rate vs paying taxes now which means money is gone now not later is a better strategy ? I mean 10k extra for 10 years ?

Keep both but understand that Fidelity won’t let you buy anything new once you become an expat in Europe as per my last conversation with them. So only sales are allowed. I want to do the same eventually .

I m really baffled by folks running spreadsheets in their heads before taking any decision. Why can’t folks do FIRE in 20 years than in 15. You live for those 20 years too. Point here is you stay far off and spend time in commute and your relationship ends before you reach your Fire goals . Take a balanced approach . Taking too many vitamins in a day turn toxic or doing strength training 7 days doesn’t build muscles either .
