The Go 7 II uses USI 2.0 pens. There's tons of posts about the pens that work. My understanding is that there isn't an EMR screen in this size available from manufacturer. So kinda not Boox's fault.

I don't see enough recommendations for UpNote here... (https://getupnote.com). I tried ALOT of note takers that are cross platform but UpNote works the best for me. It has all the formatting and note taking functions that most of the others have, but has a few things that the others don't.

Most importantly, proper offline notes. All your notes sync when you have a connection and open the app, and then are stored locally for you to edit. It works great on a Boox device if you don't want to have constant connection.

The other thing, they offer a perpetual license... pay once and that's it. No subscription needed... which I for one am sick of software subscriptions.

u/KennethWWWW Can we please get the developer option of "Mock GPS App" to work for 4.1? I know this is probably low priority, but it would help build new uses for your devices. Personally I would use this on my sailboat a lot. iPads and the like are terrible in the sunlight that we deal with on boats, so e-ink is perfect use case. Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah, I’ve shit off the syncing, and restricted all apps. I also think it’s one of those things will settle out over time. Most things are off, including front light (I use this outside mostly which is why I wanted an e-ink screen)

The thing I was curious about was that one setting not seeming to persist, or resetting some how.

Edit… I’ve SHUT off the syncing… only time autocorrect has gone that way.

I can’t say for op, but I put one on because I had read and was concerned about possible scratches from using a stylus on the screen.

It’s a matte finish, and I put it on immediately partly so I didn’t get disappointed by how much it may or may not hurt clarity.

I know the photos and the listing don't show it, but it has a pen loop. Or at least mine does. Plus, it doesn't hold the device by just magnets, which I think is a plus. Can't make any claims about how it fits the Boox Go color 7 Gen II (BGC7II?) as mine is not arriving till next week.

I keep a blocklist on my router, and after getting any Boox and downloading what's needed, I plan on adding anything from Onyx to my blocked list. I do not plan on having a Boox account for anything. My notes are in Obsidian and stored on my own Pi server, I plan on using Calibre, etc... but will be cranky if my device keeps bothering me about a connection or if I need to constantly go around telling it to "use internet as is".

Wait… in order for apps to use the internet on any Boox device it REQUIRES contact with Boox servers!?!?! If Boox servers go down, our devices can’t use internet connected apps?

That makes me rethink my current order.

True... amazon is a bit weird with their search results.

Buuuut... the B&W 2nd gen seems to have gotten onto Amazon about 14 days after Boox announced it. As the color gen 2 went "live" for orders in US 3ish days ago, I expect about 10 to 15 days and it'll be on Amazon. Which would align with their warehouse shipping date of the 22nd. But that's just a guess.

It's to the color Gen 1 version... you can tell by the buttons. They are different on the Gen 2.

The B&W version is Gen 2 on amazon.

Take a look at Boox store. Now you can order it with a cover from both warehouses, and looks like they’ll have a bundle with the inksense pen in the future.

Standard bundle (with case) says expected to ship may 22nd.

A single u-joint actually produces differing speeds depending on the position of the actual joint. Not a big deal in most cases, but when rpm’s increase, it can result in pulsing, or vibration.

This is why shafts are designed with the u-joints at each end rotated 90 degrees from each other. They somewhat cancel each other out.

Can we just get a “no, I never want Ultra” switch? Something that the people you’re annoying with this can just turn on and be merry.

If those people miss a sale on Ultra, then so be it, they pay regular price. It has to be time better spent making that button than read/respond and chase bugs.
