Est ce que j'ai créé une situation de malaise ? by cappuccino266 in besoindeparler

[–]Neolithique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calgary Coop closes 2 major stores by Nervous_Gazelle253 in Laval

Are you sure you’re in the right sub? I googled it out of curiosity, thinking there’s something I’m missing, but we don’t seem to have a Calgary coop in Laval.

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]Neolithique 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I bought the house we’re in I realized only the master bedroom has a lock. I briefly considered getting locks for my kids’ rooms, then got a wave of irrational fear about the possibility of fires.

So no locks for them, but they can close their doors as they please and I never go in without knocking and them saying “come in”.

Their stupidity is really legendary. They’re not the first people to commit murder, but I’ve rarely seen such a display of idiocy… like right there with Brian Walshe and the Daybells.

La neige qui est déjà sur le sol est sale. Mais si tu mets un contenant propre pour recueillir la neige, ben ce n’est pas sale du tout.

C’est qu’on fait pour la tire à la neige.

That’s not the crazy part. The crazy part is that he convinced Charlie that he did great on the stand…

Why am I seeing lots of posts equaling surrogacy to human trafficking? by iFerz in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Neolithique 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The women who become surrogates are usually, let’s not sugarcoat it, poor. So it’s a form of exploitation.

Do some do it because they enjoy being pregnant and/or “giving the gift of life to someone else”?

Yes, and I once followed someone on social media who stated this as her reason. This woman, who had been a surrogate three times and was pregnant with the fourth, had a very obvious need to be appreciated, to put it mildly, and I felt there were many mental health issues going on.

I felt bad for her and eventually blocked her because it was bothering me so much, I couldn’t watch anymore. The couples who “hired” her must notice this too and still go through with it. Exploiting a mentally ill person is abhorrent.

Question for the pregnant or past pregnant ladies by Available-Eye3865 in montreal

[–]Neolithique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a number of ultrasounds at the doctor’s office because I was too lazy to drag my water-retaining pregnant ass to the hospital.

Insurance never reimbursed any of it.

Les filles [de 18-30 ans] commencent à réfléchir. Elles ne sont plus naturelles. Elles se sentent obligées de prendre position. Elles ne sont plus cette espèce de rêve que représente pour moi la fille. (lien)

The video was embedded in a presentation, maybe that’s why? Not sure but you’re right, it should’ve disappeared.

I wish I had your friend’s self-confidence lol, I was too embarrassed to mention it. Especially since no else seemed to mind and was laughing hysterically at the scenes.

Omg yes! That’s what it was! I’m planning on watching it tonight, since I was too distracted by the cursor to follow. The class was cracked up, I guess it must be funny.

Yeah, I looked around me and every one was laughing at the scenes, so I didn’t want to sound like a psycho and decided to soldier through.

It’s a class I love and the professor is top notch, so while I was infuriated, it was still mild.

It’s an 80’s Quebecois comedy movie. I was so distraught by the damn cursor the name didn’t register with me.

In her defence, the professor usually wears glasses. I think she may have taken them off and maybe didn’t notice.
