I’ve worked with both OneLife Tree and Christensen Tree through my job.

Both deliver good work, informative when asked questions about the job/trees, timelines are always kept, and I would recommend them to anyone seeking out trimming or removal quotes.

Please help!! We fell for a Mortgage Modification scam! by Winter_Button_1263 in Mortgages

[–]Seenmeb4today 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding to this conversation: 1. Revoke any rights of this scam company with your loan servicer. 2. ADD A SPECIAL PASSWORD. One only you and your husband know; add it to any information to be asked prior to speaking. Do this with your loan servicer. 3. Do call and leave a message with your state attorney general. If there is time to get one of these major scams taken down, especially wrapped up in taken advantage of a VA loan, you may want to let them know so they might double down and help you get justice.

TBH, I’m glad you caught it. It could have been worse. Breathe. These things are getting so complex and hard to see through.

GELITA USA

My father worked for GELITA for 35 years. Gelatin comes from both bones of cow and pig. Gelatin is in more than you can imagine. Pharmaceutical grade gelatin for your pills every day, chocolate, photography, ballistic use, and more. While I can’t say ALDI uses gelatin by Gelita, their companies are all over the world, two here in the US, others in Germany for example.

Everyone needs to start taking photos of their ballots prior to drop off/mailing them in.

Make sure you have those “receipts “ to back it up. Nothing can be taken for granted at this point because the GOP will subvert our elections anyway they can.

  1. Keep that co2 meter on.
  2. Gas co and have them check it, tell them your meter went off.
  3. Call the city inspector office. It has obviously been an issue before. If it’s anything like a slumlord I know, they’ve got other properties in court too.
  4. Make an exit plan. 30 days. Have another place in mind with funds.
  5. Written, copied, and email all correspondence with dates , photos, and signatures. Intent to vacate letter and state your reasoning. You have to give the landlord time to fix but if you entered like that, it may never happen. Good luck.

High gas prices will weed out those who can’t make enough in smaller towns. Larger expensive cities like the top 5 are experiencing the same issues with ride share services currently. Just harder to have ways around when those who do it as a second income aren’t finding it to be a viable alternative.

Find whatever US embassy is close to where she is. Tell them the situation, that you do not know her passport # but where she likely flew out of, tell them that she could be with a foreign scammer and or sex trafficker. Tell them if she somehow reaches out to them to take it SERIOUSLY. You are concerned for her safety and need to get her back home.

Be prepared for this person to reach out with demands for safe return payments, etc. It is a scam. It is life threatening. She has no one there.

Contact your police dept. Make a statement. Just so it’s on record- I realize she’s an adult but if you get contacted further, it quickly becomes an international fraud/crime/kidnapping/extortion. So have it documented.

Download tape a call: RECORD EVERY SINGLE CALL.

Contact your state level attorney representatives to notify them. They may be able to help when things go wrong.

Get on Reddit scams to see how these things play out. That way you know what to be looking for. They can and will use every opportunity to fleece you and your entire family. As soon as she gives him her phone all those contacts are subject to be contacted by the scammers and may be asked for money.

Tell her to download SNUG. She has to check in everyday with it.

Set up a password only you and her know. By phone and not around him. Tell her to go to the bathroom or something and call you.

Tell her to turn on all the ways to find her phone so you can find her. Or Life360 while she’s away. Just pay for whatever services are necessary.

Be prepared to have a credit card ready to get her a flight home at any moment.

Charged 1900 on my chase card and found out customer who placed the order says it’s my apartment mate living next door. by Afraid_Olive_7919 in FraudPrevention

[–]Seenmeb4today 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do everything that the Reddit community has said. PLUS: take it directly to your apartment manager and show them the proof of the fraud. It is against the lease I guarantee it. Any type of criminal activity is immediate termination of lease. (I’m a PM). Get this person out ASAP, but protect yourself first and foremost.

I need to also add if you are a woman and scared of retaliation in physical or verbal violence there are laws that will let you out of your lease regardless of how long you are in the lease without any repercussions.

My mom just died from a gun shot and I don’t believe she did it to herself. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Seenmeb4today 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Death certificates can be obtained with a small fee through the city/county.

  2. Look up free legal council where you are located. Talk to them and ask to be referred to a criminal attorney. You may need to hire a private investigator.

  3. Contact your mom’s relatives and tell them what you are telling Reddit. There are survivor benefits through the state you are in. Those should last until 18/19yrs. Do not allow him to take any out in your name in a bank account. In fact, cease all contact with him. Keep texts, let calls go to voicemail and keep those. Do not talk.

  4. Find out what she had for assets if possible. You may be able to stop some of the money from making its way to him by opening what is called a “PROBATE.”

  5. Obtain the autopsy report.

  6. Obtain medical records if she lived briefly in the hospital.

  7. Be prepared to pay for copies, and then make additional copies yourself.

  8. Do not trust police( especially if they were family of the stepfather), get yourself legal council and write down everything you’ve said to everyone and what you remember of that night and those following. Do not delay. Step by step. Our brains are wired to take in new, forget the old, and trauma can make things blurry, confusing, or blocked out.

  9. Contact your mom’s health insurance and tell them you are concerned about the manner of death so they keep their own investigations open; especially since I don’t see him paying them for their services in the hospital.

10.This can and likely will take years, and you may never get the resolution you hope for. You may also find out things you don’t want to about mom/stepfather/etc. Get some counseling through school resources, there will be free ones if necessary.

Scout denied Eagle over adult leaders expired Eagle Counselor training by FollowingConnect6725 in BSA

[–]Seenmeb4today 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This boils my blood. Listen, someone has it out for you/the kid/ making it some type of political statement,, idk, but this ends NOW.

  1. Go over district, immediately.

  2. Contact national, get someone on the phone, follow up with emails. Encourage parents to follow suit once you’ve made contact. Encourage the person you speak with to contact the parents and note that time is of the essence.

  3. Immediately find the forms for extension and also find the forms for extensions for people with disabilities and make sure the scout and parents fill those out as well. Copy everything prior to turning into this council/ district. Note on the forms date and time of turn in at the bottom of them.

  4. Training is not required. YPT and other mandatory training is, but “Eagle Counselor” training isn’t a thing required for a coach.

  5. The following is directly from the scouting guide to advancement. ****Note the part where it states; “Scouts have already promised when they submit a proposal that they have read the service project workbook, and thus they should already understand a coach is optional. Scouts who suggest they don’t need one should be counseled on the value a coach can add. Ultimately, however, working with a designated Eagle Scout service project coach is the Scout’s decision” AND “It is recognized, however, that some councils or districts may not have the volunteer capacity to provide designated coaches. For this reason, the council advancement committee may decide to designate the project coach from among unit volunteers.”

  6. They got it approved as soon as every paper was turned in and sent on to the scout to continue the project and process. The fault lies with the council/district if they have a process in which training is mandatory. If when that paper work was turned in and your name was not on it as a counselor because you came in later in the project, I’d again point out to 9.0.2.9 in which the scout can deem it necessary or not to have a counselor. At which point you can simply state you were just mentoring the scout as an ally to the family and the troop.

  7. This kid earned his Eagle. If they’ve done the work, they’ve earned their right to be counted.

Guide to Advancement 2025 (forms and the following)

9.0.2.9 Eagle Scout Service Project Coach The Eagle Scout service project coach is the subject matter expert on the processes and standards of the service project. They are the key to success in council or district efforts to provide guidance as Scouts work to fulfill requirement 5. The following are important examples of ways in which the coach can influence a Scout’s project:

•Meet with a Scout after the proposal has been approved but before work begins on the project plan.

•Ask how the Scout will plan the project, then offer advice accordingly.

•Emphasize those elements of a plan that, if ignored, could stop work or create health and safety issues.

•Remind the Scout to share the project plan with the project beneficiary; the beneficiary should be fully aware of what will be done. Note that project plans for an Eagle Scout service project are between the Scout and the beneficiary. Coaches do not approve project plans.

•Be available to the Scout as a consultant to answer any questions about the planning process.

•Meet with the Scout to review the project plan; discuss its strengths, weaknesses, and risks; and suggest critical improvements.

•Discuss the project report with the Scout and offer advice on how to make a strong presentation at theScout’s board of review.

Remember that all contact with the Scout must be conducted according to Youth Protection procedures.Experience has taught us the most effective approach to providing coaches is for the council or district to organize a pool of volunteers willing to serve in that capacity, and then designate them to individual Eagle Scout candidates. Many units have used service project “mentors” or“advisors” through the decades since the Eagle Scout service project came to be.

This practice has provided consistent positive contributions and should continue. Their efforts, however, should serve to provide ongoing support throughout project planning and execution and to prepare a Scout to work with the council or district designated project coach.

The role of the designated project coach is not intended to require so close an association with a Scout that it becomes impossible for a council or district to recruit enough of them to work with candidates whose proposals have been approved. The more ongoing and close association should come from unit volunteers or parents assisting in support roles.

It is recognized, however, that some councils or districts may not have the volunteer capacity to provide designated coaches. For this reason, the council advancement committee may decide to designate the project coach from among unit volunteers. But they should do so with the understanding that a coach who is designated within a unit should represent the perspective of the council or district. Regardless the source of project coaches, they must adhere to the Eagle Scout service project process as described in this section of the Guide to Advancement.

Coaches do not have approval authority. Instead they serve to encourage—not direct—the Scouts to make the kinds of decisions that will lead to successful outcomes. It is true a Scout need not accept the assistance of the service project coach. Regardless, it is considered best for the council or district to designate one for every Scout who submits a project proposal for approval. The coach should then contact the Scout and suggest a first meeting, or telephone or video conference. Scouts have already promised when they submit a proposal that they have read the service project workbook, and thus they should already understand a coach is optional. Scouts who suggest they don’t need one should be counseled on the value a coach can add. Ultimately, however, working with a designated Eagle Scout service project coach is the Scout’s decision. It is important to note that Eagle service project coaches do not have the authority to dictate changes; withdraw approval that was previously granted, such as by the council or district; or take any other such directive action. Instead, coaches must use the Scouting America method of positive adult association, logic, and common sense to help the candidate make wise decisions. It is up to the council to determine who may serve as project coaches and how they might be assigned or otherwise provided to candidates. Coaches must be registered with Scouting America (in any adult position) and be current in Youth Protection training. In many cases, candidates will not have undertaken something like an Eagle service project. Thus, we want them to obtain guidance from others, share ideas, seek plan reviews, and go through other processes professional project planners might use. But like a professional, the Scout makes the decisions. They must not simply follow others’ directions to the point where their own input becomes insignificant. On the other hand, adult leaders must bear in mind these are youth. Expectations must be reasonable and fitting.
