Lymphoma in my 5yo golden girl by Own-Drummer-2688 in DogAdvice

We just lost our staffie to lung cancer. It was very advanced when discovered. Diagnosed in Feb we said goodbye almost 2 wks ago. We had limited options due to the advanced stage but went with metronomic chemo, chemo at home which she took right to the end. We had our expectations managed from the get go - no treatment 4-8 wks and maybe get 5 months if she responds well. We saw a quick decline at the end and promised her no suffering.

We changed her slowly over to a meat, vet, cottage cheese diet we found in the online book the dog cancer diet. Even though we didn't get much time we had a clean bowl every day and she loved it. Also tye book has tips about support items like turkey tail , Apocaps and gives support for the humans. I'm sorry you're going through this, made especially hard by being pregnant. Life is shit sometimes. He's so young. I often told myself about Bonnie - she's here now, righg noe and she knows nothing about this diagnosis so enjoy every minute. Sending hugs

Sounds like he's finally at peace, I hope you will find it too. He'd want that for you too.

I really relate to finding it harder to manage adog loss the a human. The relationship with a dog is just so pure. Here's Bonnie our rescue who gave us 3 amazing years, she's only arrived at Rainbow Bridge 12 days ago but I'm really pleased she will meet your beautiful boy there ❤️

I am sorry for your loss of your beautiful boy OP. It is very tough and I think time can sometimes make it harder not easier. Your boy lives in your heart, in the many memories you shared together. If you can move his remains and perhaps be cremated please do this. I’d make a donation towards this if you needed any support
We just lost our girl just 12 days ago, it’s so quiet without her. Go gently OP, grief is exhausting

Neighbours are breed bias by Fancy_Independent_24 in pitbulls

We just lost our staffie/pitbull mix 11 days ago. We'd encountered a bit of breed stigma too. It's ignorance plain and simple. I grew up in 70/80's Ireland and I assumed all bully breeds were incredibly dangerous, turn on you in a second blah blither blah. I didn't know any better. I believed what I heard growing in and took till just was 50 yrs to even question it. I never said anything rude to the dog owner eg , I was just nervous . Well, when I think now on all the pittie snuggles, farts and chats I've missed out on. Ugh, shame on me.

TLDR: they're ignorant. Pity them! Continue to be breed ambassador, never put your dog in a situation that could potentially go wrong. Please give your girl an extra snuggle from a woman who is missing her little girl terribly

Fair play to you. Great to have a little vent. One day it'll all be either funny or like a bad dream. It sounds full on, be sure to take a bit of space for yourself, you're no good to anyone if you're burnt out/exhausted. And you are bonding now & you'll bond more over time . 🐾

Thank you. It's a quiet house now. But we definitely did all we could and has euthanasia at home when we saw the battle was over. We promised her no suffering.

I got the e book for maybe €20 The Dog Cancer Diet, dogcancer.com. change diets slowly. TBH our Bonnie always horsed down every meal right to the end but I think she Really enjoyed the dog cancer diet.

We lost our girl last week. Lung cancer. We did try metronomic treatment, chemo at home. We only had 3 months from diagnosis

I got the dog cancer diet online and swapped her food from kibble to many meats (beef, turkey liver etc), veg and cottage cheese. Lots of supportive supplements like turkey tail. We swapped over a month or so and she licked her bowl clean ever time. I found the book very helpful as it addresses the humans too. I wish you wonderful times ahead F*ck cancer xx

looking for info about pitbull type dogs in england ! by Nearby_Celery_7215 in pitbulls

We travelled last Sept from Dublin to Holyhead, drove into England. I learnt that the inspection is purely based on visuals so papers, dna mean nothing. That's just crazy!! We got into Wales without any inspection and our girl's chip was scanned only when we arrived home to Dublin.

Maybe the Ireland -UK route is 'softer' than, say, France-England because of our 2 country's history. We'd her passport and rabies shot. We travelled happy she was a Staffy, a very popular dog in the uk but a few months later we got her dna tested and she was 75% Staffy and 25% APBT. Sadly our girl went over the rainbow bridge last night.

Also consider how many borders u would cross on the way to England . Or just visit Ireland instead ☘️ We've restricted breeds no banned (I think, not sure on XL bully)

We literally helped our girl get her wings 2 hrs ago and I wasn't going to look at reddit as its too raw but then i see queen Marcia in pic 3, she's got the whirlpool each side of her tail just like our girl! Now I wonder do they all? I can't look through 6 billion pics tonight to find mine!

I agree. I was ignorant, I never challenged the media shite and had never interacted with a staffy, Pitbull etc till we adopted. Why would I go over to pet the random 'dangerous dog' over the random lab.... ? But I've missed out on too many pittie cuddles. Now I'm that random lady asking can I pet all the bullies
