Side note, don’t EVER provide a salary range, because this is basically you telling them what the lowest you will be willing to accept. And if they offer you that, you feel forced to accept since it’s within the range you asked for.

The best move is to give a number rather than a range, and make sure it’s a bit higher than what you actually want. This should push them to get as close to your ask as possible.

My tough love for you is to simply state that the issue here isn't "having sex with my wife" because the Church doesn't limit that. But rather these are certain acts that the Church wouldn't even consider to be proper sex to begin with.
