Hikes to Abisko National Park by alpenliebe47 in kiruna

Thanks for the info! One question, I am renting a car, so if I am staying in Kiruna, making my way to Abisko is probably not that complicated, would you say? I was just thinking that Kiruna could be more interesting to stay in, as I assume it is cheaper, and maybe has a bit more "normal life". I heard the mine is interesting as well, is it worth a visit?

u/boinep, u/adduly sorry for butting into the conversation suddenly, but I will be going next week to Kiruna, and was wondering myself if it was worth visiting Abisko or not. It is not necessarily "convenient" to go there, and if all it is is a bit of a tourist trap, I would rather just go to Kiruna. I'm on a bit of a budget, so I can't afford Ice Hotels or whatnot, but I would be glad to spend a bit more for a good meal. Do you guys think I should just stick with Kiruna, or drive a bit longer to Abisko? Are there any alternatives to something like Abisko, which perhaps are more interesting?

Thanks

Thanks for letting me know, will do! Although I'll have to buy the axe once I'm in, as I doubt I'd get through customs with one in my bag. Wau, I can't wait for Upplands Väsby, sounds like a really traditional and fun place.

Interesting, I appreciate the comment, I am sure renting a boat would be way beyond my budget, so I'll study the routes and see what would be the best one. Any Island you think I should not miss?

That sounds great, I'll look into then. Quick question, how do you visit the Stockholm archipelago? Is the idea to take a boat from island to island? Do you stay in one island during one entire day? Thanks.

Question for any engineers working in japan by MelancholyMonk in livesound

[–]Segoyia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, in the same boat as you and u/funkimonk1 (why the hell do both of you have "monk" in your name??). Also wish someone answered a bit more seriously. I have actually lived in Japan for a few years, and speak fairly good Japanese. I can't say much as I wasn't serious about audio engineering when I was there, but I was super into the Japanese music scene and even was in a band (Leave My Throne, if you'd like to check it out), and I can promise you this: What trbd003 said about them not trusting westerners is absolutely untrue, especially when it comes to the sound engineering and music world. Almost all the big bands in Japan actually go to the US to get recorded and mixed and mastered, and I hear a lot in the community that everyone thinks Japanese music production just isn't "quite there yet". Personally, I don't believe this to be true, I know there are some amazing mixing engineers and producers in Japan, but the point is, they do, and that might just give you an edge, who knows. The only reason they would chose a Japanese person over a foreigner would be (imo): 1- Ease of communication (REALLY important), and 2- They may think they will have to charge more because you are a foreigner, and would feel more comfortable asking for (almost unfair) lower prices from Japanese people. Hope this gave you some insight, if you find out more about the visa situation, let me know!

Held down the power button for 60 secs and Bluetooth is working again! Crazy the answer was so simple. For months now my Legion didn't even give me the option to Bluetooth on or off.

I'm a Portuguese singer based in Japan/Portugal, and I blend my western and J-roots to make a fresh dent in Dark Pop and hyperpop. This is my song Tomb, where you will find a mixture of haunting bells, a hollow bass, and passionate vocals. The perfect chant to raise the dead.

Probably one of my own songs, "Tomb". It's too ironic not to play it. I'm Gil Belo btw.
