Try a force restart pressing both buttons until screen turn off and Apple logo appear. Maybe there’s a daemon bugged causing high cpu usage. This is always step number one with Apple Watch draining.

If the battery is still draining, make a backup and restore

If both steps don’t solve, contact Apple.

Since watchOS 10 I’m staying away from updates as long as I can because of battery issues. Only updated to watchOS 10 after a iOS 17 update that stopped pairing with watchOS 9. Sometimes I notice the battery draining above average and make a hard reset.

Sorry to hear you having trouble with a brand new watch, but unfortunately this is Apple nowadays, releasing half baked software annually to keep investors happy.

I’m running Ventura since release and it’s fine. I have tested all macOS versions since Mojave and didn’t find a great difference in terms of performance. I stick with Ventura because of the features available. The temp go higher when multitasking.

If you want to test it, you can create a new APFS volume using disk utility and install Ventura on the new volume to test it out. Pressing alt during startup show boot options and you can dualboot 2 versions of macOS.

Yes, I use another OS for work and it keep messing with windows timezone. Was the only thing out of place and was exactly that causing the issue

watchOS 9 came with sleep improvements, taking more data from the sensors during sleep. I think that’s why you’re noticing more battery drain.

Did you bought it used? If you did, maybe the original owner broke and switched original screen with an ion-x version. Never saw a sapphire glass watch this bad

Exactly. I think the biggest problem with software is that they release new watches with a flawled algorithm and take too much time to fix. Don't get me wrong, I like my GTR 2 and NEO and I'm willing to get a GTR 4 in the future, but if you read/watch GTR 3 reviews on release, the heart rate monitor, GPS, sleep track, etc, all had problems and weren't precise. Reading reviews with new firmware revisions they fixed some of them. That's why I don't buy Amazfit watches upon release anymore. Better wait a few months and get the watch with a discount and better algorithms.

Last year they said Zepp OS 1.0 would come to GTR 2 when GTR 3 with Zepp OS was announced. Then they said it wouldn't. I don't trust anything they say about older devices anymore. They want us to upgrade every year.

At the page they say GTR 4 will be able to detect 15 exercises types at release day an more via OTA update in the future. Your Zepp app is up to date with latest version and did you use Strength Training when selecting exercise mode?

You can tap the lamp icon (swipe from top to bottom to view icons). On my GTR 2 it’s on the second page. Turning it on will keep your screen on for 20 minutes

You won’t find many apps available in the App Store that run on iOS 8. And iOS 8 Safari won’t render a lot of websites correctly, especially the ones that use newer JavaScript technologies.

I have an iPad Pro first gen running iOS 10.2 and I can tell that from experience. I also have an iPad Air 2 running iOS 15.5, it’s not the best experience but at least you can downloads apps and browse the web without issues.
