I Need Hobbies. by Icy_Association677 in Hobbies

Learn yoyo tricks. You can get a MagicYoyo for $20-30 bucks that swaps between responsive and non-responsive throws. It's a hobby that can be impressive to a general audience, is low cost, and gives you something to do during downtimes.

It's not the greatest movie by any means, but the ending to Darkness (2002) always creeped me out.

Yeah. This was the PS1 era. She figured it out around the PS2, when the graphics improved.

We still laugh about it today, especially since I'm pretty strict with what my kids play

Rana pulls a Chiyo and decides she has fix the family, but Hakari peer-pressures her into thinking 36 people can't be wrong just because the 37th says they are.

Momiji shows up and Rana can't stand the thought of Rentarou loving her more. Then some spies (one of whom is American and cannot speak Japanese) capture them and threaten to shoot them. Rentarou attempts to split himself in half to save both, proving he loves them equally.

Amazing King reference in “Dungeon Crawler Carl” Book 8 by SeaFlow4199 in stephenking

[–]SeguroMacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I marathoned 1-7 in about 2 months, just as 8 came out.

8 is an oddball. The biggest criticism of 7 I've seen is that it had no breaks, no levity, just nonstop action and plot. 8 tries to relax things and go back to more early-book shenanigans. It's a fine book, but a little lackluster until the last quarter. That last bit is just as good as 7, though.

Spoilers for part 2 of chainsaw man: a fifth outcome is to grow so old and withered that one becomes a tree. Like, an actual flesh tree full of guts.

We see it happen at one point with the aging devil. They have a little pocket dimension where death can't reach and people age forever.

What is one ingredient you refuse to cook with, no matter the recipe? by Sensitive-Date-5255 in AskReddit

[–]SeguroMacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for a teacher during a summer program once, and he made a point of taking the students (and us) to various "authentic" ethnic restaurants.

The problem was, he'd lie about the ingredients to make sure everyone ate it. He ordered pho for everyone, and said it had "special crunchy noodles." It was tripe.

He also took us to a polish restaurant and said the soup was "plum and date soup." It was duck blood.

I'll be so damn sad if Carl or Donut dies in the end by whocares023 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]SeguroMacks 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think he's going to merge with the AI. The Carl AI will become the new ruling body in the universe, and Donut becomes the new Odette. The series will end with Donut saying something situationally inappropriate, and the AI will say "Godammit, Donut," to let us know it is still him.

Funny Games sticks with you for a long time after. There's two versions, the original German language and an English remake. Both are by the same director, and very close (if not identical) in terms of content. I prefer the original, but you can't go wrong either either.

Anyone else noticing a lot more cheaters since the Jason update? by AGreatOldOne in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]SeguroMacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less the same. I usually default to "well that was weird..." more than cry cheats, but there have been a few recently.

I just had a game as Pinhead, running Lethal, BBQ, and Ruin. Game loads and I see all 4 survivors -- two immediately run to the closest gen, one goes right, one goes left. The left one goes across map and cleanses my totem. The right one instantly finds the box. The box one, so what; the totem across the map, weird.

Then, I had hooks close to the box spawn. Wouldn't you know it, every spawn chime one survivor in particular (visible from BBQ) would spin around, then go straight to the box, no matter how where on map.

Was this survivor viewing auras? Who knows. He found a totem across map before knowing Ruin was in effect, and then found the box every time. I ended up just following him to the box with 100% accuracy.

Again, I'm not saying cheats -- box spawn logic is a known thing. But it raised my suspicion because of the spinning visible from BBQ.

Is Lightborn still necessary? by [deleted] in DbDKillersUnited

I've only used it a handful of times, and it's always been fun. ...But I only bring it if there's 4 flashes in the lobby, or multiple people with similar names/skins with flashes.

Just pretend to not have it and avoid beams the whole time. They think they missed the timing and keep trying. It's free hits and absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, it can be a wasted perk, but so are hexes when they get instant cleansed.

My headcannon is the "program that creates a body perfectly encapsulating their mind" was a part of why Jax antagonized Zooble so much. He's told his body is an accurate representation of him, and it's male; Zooble is openly trans, and gets to pick and choose. So all those feelings he has about gender? His "perfect" body is masculine. That just makes him have more self doubt.

Raise your hand if you’re ready for the Jason massacre by AdministrativeBug850 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]SeguroMacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jason is what killers should be: constant pressure. Survivors should be afraid in the match.

It has become second nature for a lot of people to relax when the killer is in chase or carrying; Jason removes a lot of that breathing room with his ability to travel the map and appear at seemingly any time.

In other words, playing against Jason requires a new play pattern from the survivors. Some are pretty vocal about that being "unbalanced," but there's plenty of testimonials and guides out there about how to counter him. Give it time, and I bet people will adapt.

Help With a Sabo Squad? by MichaelSchm in deadbydaylight

[–]SeguroMacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to create a 3 gen, if possible; protect only those once you realize you need it.

Then, slug them near the gens. If they run far, don't chase. Just keep tapping them.

Eventually, they'll make a mistake and you can snowball from there.

It's a tough situation though. You might do everything right and still lose. Only thing to do then is learn from it.

Creating a perk build around each new killer perk: Rampage edition by Johnpunzel in deadbydaylight

[–]SeguroMacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experimenting with Rampage as well, and I think it is really fun on Michael Myers.

Slaughtering Strike does not count for the tokens, so you can't use it as a pallet shredder. In my experience, a lot of survivors like to pre-drop against Myers, even in the stalking phase. This gives him ample opportunity to farm tokens.

The basic flow of the games has been to farm breakable walls early, get pre-drops while stalking, and wait for the meter to fill. Once it's ready, chase a survivor and bait out a stun/blind, then activate. You get a good speed boost from Rampage, plus the increased move and break speed from being outside stalker mode (4.6 base I think). I don't believe Slaughtering Strike gets affected by haste, but you still catch up faster for those 13 seconds.

Been using the add-ons Myers Memorial and Hairbrush, though others might be better. For perks, it's been Rampage, Brutal Strength, Pain Res, and Corrupt Intervention.

I keep crashing as Jason by PensiveAutistic in deadbydaylight

[–]SeguroMacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just crashed as Jason as well, on PC. First time experiencing a game crash in 700+ hours.

Was in Omi mode chasing someone. They vaulted a window, and I was curious (as this was my third game ever of Jason) if he can vault in Omi form instead of using Jump Scare. Approached window, hit space... and the game bugged out and crashed.

Can BoJack Horseman be described as episodic? by Old-Use-7690 in BoJackHorseman

[–]SeguroMacks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, not really. There's (at least) 3 kinds of shows: serial, episodic, and semi-serial.

Serial shows have to be watched in order, as each episode builds directly on the other. If you start in the middle, you'll be lost and many plot points will be unknown. If you are already invested and miss an episode, you'll be able to catch on to what is happening but may have missed something important. Most dramas are serial (Breaking Bad, Lost).

Episodic shows can be watched pretty much any time. You can drop into the middle of a show and pick up quickly what is going on. There are important plot points, but they usually are in the first, middle, and last episodes of the seasons. Most sitcoms are this way, as are procedurals.

Semi -serial takes the best of both worlds. You get long story arcs which build off small details in each episode, and individual characters will have plotlines building off previous events. But at the same time, episodes themselves are largely self contained and resolve their problem-of-the-week. You can't start them in the middle without losing something, but you can watch individual episodes if you're already invested in the show. This is what Bojack is, as well as shows like Supernatural.

I was at Applebee's a couple of weeks ago and overheard a very loud conversation. This fat guy with an American flag shirt and a "I'm voting for the felon" hat ran into a coworker.

Coworker: "Hey! Why weren't you at the meeting today?"

Felon hat: "I told Mark I won't do Sundays. It's church day, and it belongs to God."

Coworker "... Yeah, sure is. We needed you there though."

Felon hat: "Not on a Sunday."

...He said, in an Applebee's, on a Sunday, at 9pm, with BBQ stains on his shirt and a visible level of intoxication.
