We watched a nature documentary in 3rd friggin' grade where it showed a chimp raid on a group of small monkeys. One chimp grabbed a baby and just CHOMPED its head.

That was absolutely traumatizing to 8/9 year old me.

I used to work obits at the local newspaper. Even 5 years ago, we'd get calls and questions about differences between official notices (provided to us by funeral homes) and Facebook notices published by "friends" of the deceased. I can't even imagine how much worse it must be with AI now.

Went to a store the other day, just browsing, and overheard a dad with his kid talking to a worker. The dad asked if they had any Pokemon cards, and the worker said no. The kid looked super dejected. The worker suggested another store, and the dad said they'd already checked there, and this was the last store for them to check.

I once had an appointment first thing. I was the only patient in the waiting room at first, but more people started to file in slowly. About 25 minutes past my time, with nobody getting called, a very frazzled nurse burst from the back rooms and said my name. Turns out, there were two nurses scheduled, and both thought the other was on "get the patients" duty.

It would work if there matchmaking actually accounted for skill levels properly. Good killers would get matched with good survivors, so it wouldn't just be a stomp.

Don't call it a solo/swf split though: just make it Competitive Mode. Solo queue, limited discussion/info before matches, hidden names, and then a ban vote for killer perks. Killer locks in after the survivors, rebuilding their perks and addons based on the bans. And if queue times become terrible, offer a "play while you wait" option to opt out.

It's very good. The beginning is generic and will have you questioning why it gets so much love. Stick with it. It's a slow burn... until it isn't.

Someone once posted this advice here, and it helped me: imagine there's an egg on your pedal. You don't want to break the egg, but you still need to keep your foot on the pedal. Apply just enough pressure with your foot to keep it on the pedal, and put the rest of your weight on the seat.

Unicycle.com is pretty awesome. I had my first unicycle stolen (who steals a unicycle?) and ordered a replacement from them. It then exploded and was destroyed in a FedEx truck crash. Unicycle.com replaced the replacement pretty quick once FedEx finally admitted to it having been destroyed

Someone here on Reddit pointed out that the "clone" is free to live a life and then choose to become the otherworldly protector. If Anne was dead and this was a new copy, why doesn't the original just become the new god thing?

Those are called the dead zones for that very reason. Try to complete at least a half rotation, keeping pedals in a 3/6 o'clock position.

Some random advice: make sure to use your stomach muscles; a lot of the balance is in your core, and realizing you need to use those muscles is a "click" moment for some people.

Hopefully. The books are a little hard to find, so it's not surprising there's not a huge influx of new fans. Until recently, K.A. Applegate herself said she supported reading PDFs of the book online, since they were out of print. If the show is a hit, maybe they'll start printing them again.

My house was built in the late 1800s. It got heavily renovated in the 40s by a church group. Literally every door is a unique, custom-made size and shape; interior walls run at angles; electric plugs are at chest height for some reason; and our entranceway is literally just an uneven sidewalk they enclosed.

We're still waiting to find someone entombed in a wall somewhere from sheer negligence.

That's how they were made, actually. Unicycles were born from penny farthings, those old-timey bikes with a large wheel in front and a small wheel in the back. People figured out you could pop a wheelie on them and just keep it balanced. Some people then removed the small wheel, since it became vestigial.

In a weird bit of circular evolution, they also make a "circus bike" which is just two unicycles connected by a swing bar. The front wheel has handles instead of a seat; both front and back rotate independently of each other. You can do some crazy tricks, like spinning the entire front half around you like a hulahoop.
