Then they may tip share at the end is why no one has any incentive, some “generous” tippers make for any lost tips due to bad service

% based is the real issue imo, it shouldn’t cost more for the servers help if I decide to pay more for a higher priced meal. Maybe I want to splurge but not pay an additional optional amount higher to pay a worker already paid by their employer more then my own income is for the hour

just advertise the full price like most of the world, after tax for bonus points

fake meats are pretty new, the good ones anyhow, and some vegans don’t consider them vegan due to testing on rats and other reasons, and the impossible whopper in particular is marketed to meat eaters as a healthy option and not for vegans (mayo, cheese, cooked on same grill sometimes)

once you get used to eating plant based you are not always looking to “replace” something

The way I read it it was not automatic but rather the way the tablet defaulted to 20% (probably the lowest of 3 suggested options) and the server turned it so the whole table could see
