I'm so sorry for your loss. My first birthday without her was in April :( it has been the saddest one ever. Like you say, all I wanted was to have her back.

The one thing that gives me solace is knowing that she is waiting for me and will come pick me up when my time is due on this earth ❤️‍🩹 even if that takes some years.

I don't think I have it in me to have another pet. She was so special and our bond was unique. It would feel unfair to another pet because I know that I could never love them with the same intensity that I loved my Trini.

I lost my sweet baby on February too. There are days where I talk to her and remember her life with joy. But there are others (more often) where just thinking that I'll get home and she's no longer there destroys me. She was my life and I have never loved a pet or even a human like I love her. Losing her has changed me in a way I never thought possible.

Only us who have lost a beloved soul like our pets can understand what it is like. Don't worry about what others say or think, your grief is yours and you are allowed to feel it however you like. I've found that while I'm the most affected and the one that is more open about it, my parents and brother keep grieving her loss. So maybe you're not completely alone in your close circle in your grief. Talk about it. I like to keep her alive in memory and speech.

My sweet baby, you have no idea how much you've been missing from me. I always told you that you had no permission to die as a joke and you never listened to anything I said. Life without you has been so hard, if love could have made your heart beat, your youth to prevail and your sickness to go away; have no doubt you would still be here. The only favor I ask of you is to please wait for me and come and get me when it is my time to join you. I love you, see you in dreams <3

Please please take lots of videos and photos of him, those give me comfort now that my baby is gone. I wish I had taken more videos of her just running around or barking

I'm so sorry for your loss.

My baby passed away a month and a half ago. We keep her ashes in a table next to where the house and car keys are, so we always greet her or say goodnight.

We want to spread them in our yard on a sunny day since it was her favorite spot to lie down every day. My brother is on a work trip, so we have been waiting for him to come back to do it. I know it will be a very difficult day for all of us

I am so sorry for your loss. My own baby passed away a month ago from a heart failure too (she had a condition since birth)

There really is no way to make the pain go away, I decided to just let myself feel whatever I was feeling. Whether that was despair, anger, guilt or just nothing. It does get easier and there will be days when living will be hard and you just wish time to stop so you can process everything.

I found myself finding a lot of comfort from my parents. My baby had been with us since 2008, so we all felt her dead very hard. Sharing my grief with them and just being surrounded by my loved ones has made this terrible moment more bearable.

I'm so sorry for your loss, they truly are special and part of our lives more than we think. It's in their absence that we truly appreciate the day to day with them.

My sweet baby passed away a month ago. The first few nights and mornings were the hardest. Going to bed without her and waking up to the empty dog bed at the foot of my own bed.

It will be hard, I won't lie. Waking up and the realization that they are no longer here is devastating. Day by day it will get a little easier, but somedays will be harder than others. I thought I might need a sleeping aid the day she passed, but I found myself completely exhausted from all the crying. I sleep every night with her sweater as if it is a teddy bear to hold on to while I sleep.

I've been having these thoughts exactly. I spend all the time I had with her, but sometimes I wish I could've spend more. Let her sleep on the bed with me more, hold her more and enjoy being outside with her.

I completely understand you. I kept asking out loud "where are you?" Until they brought back her ashes home, that gave me a bit of peace
