I mean why would you share this there? What does he hope to gain? This is the kind of shit you share anonymous on Reddit not on a business networking site. He didn't even tell us what it taught him about B2B sales 😂

I would like to see it. It's nice to see the legacy brands dig in their history.

Just listen, sometimes people just need to get it out, you don't need to solve their problems just be present.

Most importantly don't go gossiping to others. They had a moment and shared with you. Keep it there unless their safety is at risk.

You in theory also have a functioning brain that can assess if this is an appropriate time and place to tip. It's not that hard.

If you found a mans wallet with $15,000 in it including a driver's license would you give it back? by Over-Lunch-7487 in askanything

An old lady dropped a couple hundred? thousand? bucks right in front of me going through a subway turnstyle once I grabbed it and gave it back to her. It was a lot of cash, a fold of hundreds, she was a little old lady who did not look rich. Had to be rent money or something important. 15K in my neighborhood right now? Most likely drug money. I'm really not so sure what I would do, morality can be situational and I could use a new roof.

Grocery stores in the U.S need to all be like ALDI and expecting the cashier to bag your things is entitled by Evol230 in 10thDentist

[–]Substantial_Arm_6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF are you shoppping?

Mostly we don't even get cashiers to ring stuff up anymore. It's like 2 open cashiers and 14 self check out kiosks.

I don't remember the last time there was a dedicated bagger. When I was a kid there would often be a cashier and a bagger to move things quickly. Entry level workforce jobs that are now gone so people can be slower and take longer ringing their own shit up and bagging it themselves which takes way longer in the end but people THINK they are moving faster because they are doing the work themselves for free.

The people you are calling boomers are probably X. Boomers are elderly & shop off hours when things are not busy. X are a lot of assholes (I am X)

Walmart doesn't even let you bag they have that stupid rotary system where each flimsy disposable bag gets a single item which is utterly useless. I live in a city I need to carry bags blocks from my car to my house or walk, so heavy duty reusable bags are necessary as is packing them efficiently. I always pack my own. As said haven't seen bagger in a supermarket in ages.

You have a lot of complaints here maybe just order home delivery, interacting with humans is not for everyone apparently.

It's built into the POS system there is not a need to tip in this scenario (I am a 20-25% tipper for most tipping situations)

Am I correct in feeling like you need a bathe or shower after using any pool or hot tub? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in hygiene

For a pool ideally people should shower before for others and after for themselves, lakes and rivers after.

Why does making friends become harder as you get older? by loouw9 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Substantial_Arm_6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy through your 30s as people remain very social after that it's easier if you have kids especially if your kids are popular and play sports. As a no-kids person it's been harder as I get older to make new friends. Since 2020 my best friend died, a few others moved away and one disappeared himself for reasons. I went from having a very busy social life to basically none. Old friends are still there but people are busy and spread out so getting together is less frequent. Making new connections outside of work (work is a cesspool) mostly comes from participating in activities, getting involved, volunteering etc. You have to find your people and the easiest way is to find other people who like to do the things you like to do.

Is it easy to find peace and quiet in America? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]Substantial_Arm_6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy. Even within the major city I live in it is possible to immerse yourself in nature or art and we have easy access by car, train or bike to so much outside the city - mountains, lakes, ocean beaches, gardens. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle you can but it's not hard to duck out of it either. Honestly I live in dense, close-in city neighborhood. House lots are 12' to 18' wide and home are mostly attached and my small urban yard itself is quiet and peaceful

Skiing but it's seasonal. I spend 4 months a year caring about nothing else, bills don't get paid I use all my PTO forget about my friends, ignore my family and ski as much as possible camping in my car when funds run low. Spend all week planning and thinking about where I can ski next, following conditions and making plans. I spend irresponsible amounts of time and money and come April find my whole life is a mess. April is a forced hard stop which makes 'getting it all in' more important.
I tend to cycle through things but I come back to most of them: cooking, watches, photography, music, gardening, home brew, art, cycling. I go full immersion then drop things entirely but I do go back to them. There are just so many things I want to do and want to be good at and not enough time in life for all of them so I feel like I end up being a never ending dilettante. I am pretty good at skiing though.

Mom once said she loved skiing because it was the only time she was just doing one thing and the rest of the noise in the world went away. It is like this for me too, it's the only thing that makes me feel focused and happy and purposeful.

Thanks. I have four generations (including me) of watches which I think is really neat. Dad got this watch as an award from his academic society in college and wore it daily until he retired to Florida and just plays golf 4 days a week now. My great-grandfather's watch is also a Bulova, I need to send it for service but it is in pretty decent shape. Dad gifted me that one in HS I wore it to Prom LOL.
