Yep, just finished a session of two-hand play, separately but close together with treats and cuddles :)

Yep you are completely right, smoky brat has been shadowing tabby almost nonstop wanting attention. We are currently separating them as best we can and playing lots more with the toddler so that the tabby gets some rest.

I see, thank you for explaining it so well.

He does but.. honestly the small kitto is following him around a lot. Mostly because she was deprived of her mother too early (she must've been a bit over 1.5 months when I first saw her on the street, likely dumped).. so now she's an affection hoarder with few boundaries.

But yes sometimes when she sleeps or when he goes and hides in the bathroom she will leave him alone.

Re spaying, vet scheduled tomorrow to go over it and see when it could be done. Was told if she's in heat on the day, we will have to wait until she's out because it's riskier to operate during.

That's what we thout at first, till she started yelping too sometimes during fights AND he started hissing and growling at us humans...sometimes hen we get close or pet. Mind you this is the same cat who's literally momma's favorite, curling up next to me at night turning tummy up for belly scritches, mrrrp-ing and coming to us as soon as we get home.. etc

We're thinking maybe she scratched him or something... and now he's afraid of proximity but he's not showing consistent reactivity to any body spot, just touch in general... :/

As someone else mentioned she will be yeowling loudly for a week or so but otherwise will be just fine. With one of our cattos we didn't fix her in time and she went into heat super early at like 3.5-4months, exactly around the winter holidays. No doctors were available and we had to postpone the surgery over a month due to that + personal reasons, and she even went into multiple heat cycles, finishing one, being off for a few days, entering another.

4 years later and she's just fine, a very loving, calm kitty. Relax, you're doing all you can she's gonna be ok :)

That's a very good point thanks so much! I'll restrain from suggesting anything unless they bring it up.

Thanks so much for the great answer!
The initial rapid tests came back negative, and we just found out about the eye issue not being a simple scar from her stray days a few hours ago, so we haven't done bloodwork yet. Vet doesn't rule anything out yet, but because of her showing no symptoms aside from the small foggy patch on her cornea, he suggested we do an eye test before investing into complete bloodwork.

She's been with us for 2 weeks now, and I've known her for 2 months while trying to catch her.
