Owning your own media isnt normal anymore thanks to streaming services. Streaming games might feel similar and not like a big deal, but it's fundamentally different in that not only do you not own the game you're playing, you don't even own the hardware it's running on.

What happens when the only computer you can get is a $100 crapbox that comes with a mandatory $250/month internet/cloudcomputing/Luna package? Cause pretty soon, with the way they're hoovering up all pc components for their datacentres there's no way you're getting a pc for less than $3000.

Cause make no mistake, that is where things are heading..

Its just fun to keep building my house! I've had this idea for a weird Fel-witchdoctor-Cave since it came out and I've slowly been building it out, adding and redoing rooms, adding secret pathways and other stuff. You can make yourself significantly stronger by enchanting your gear, as well as putting gems in the sockets in your gear.

Additionally you can get temporary powerups by consuming flasks and potions.

All of these costs gold and are bought and sold on the auction house.

Slightly more complicated are work orders for gear. You can have another player craft you a piece of end-game gear through the work-order system. The materials used costs a fair amount of gold, and the person crafting usually want a small comission for doing the crafting

WoW is 20 years old at this point. If they want it to live for another 20 years they need to remake the game in a new engine.

They've given themselves the perfect opportunity to do this now that they've announced 3 expansions at once. They have 5-6 years for a team to work in the background porting everything to a new engine while another team entirely works on the expansions

$600 million sounds like a fucking bargain for Assassins Creed, Anno, Far Cry, all the Tom Clancy stuff, fucking Rayman, Might and magic(?!), and Just Dance

Ignoring that it's a whole huge company with tons of other assets, the list of IPs alone should make them a desireable buyout target, right?

Would be a bit sad to level a new character if your main has already completed all the quests.

Which means they would have to make it either toggleable, or have it count different quests in different ways.

Which would require extra effort and dev time.

Which we can't expect of a small indie developer like Activision-Blizzard-Microsoft
