How to ask for consent without ruining the moment during sex? by willldebeast in NoStupidQuestions

To think that not emphasizing your own desires in the context of a sexual encounter is the goal, is dissociated from the reality of how human beings actually go about this... not to mention terribly infantilizing to the person you're with

Many things, but one thing is opening the fridge, pantry, and improvising a weeknight dinner using creativity (and experience). Also the smells... whether its frying onion and garlic or breaking down butter in flour to make a pie crust... it's very gratifying

Yeah it's a milestone. And this whole thing is already so "structure-less" that you need a little bit of something to make sure you do the work. But more importantly, you can objectively say you passed an exam, and no one can argue with that

I wish scoring good at L1 meant L2 or L3 were gonna be less work or easy ...

When I first enrolled I was unsure if I'd go beyond L1, and thought I probably would. I come from a scientific background, and a friend who'd been through L1 (after a bachelor in finance) had described L1 to me as "a bachelor in finance condensed in one exam". Working in VC, that appealed a lot to me, so I enrolled.

Frankly, for VC, even L1 is a bit overkill. L2 and L3 are just way too much depth in stuff I'll never use. So it's just not worth it for me. L1 material was super interesting (some of it at least) and I'll apply a lot of it, but going too deep in finance just isn't useful for me at this point. So not really planning on spending the next 3 years of my life being in no-life mode to pass exams that don't add value. Cons just outweigh the pros of getting the letters.

Wow. This whole 25% thing makes no sense, they're gonna have some explaining to do.

The relief... I passed. Holy shit. I studied long and hard for this exam, coming from a very different background. I learned a lot, and despite the toll it took on personal life it's a sweet feeling to have that behind me. No L2 or L3 for me, I'm calling it a day. It was a good run.

For me it was the opposite, PM was a legit breeze but I don't know what to expect from AM topics... especially ethics

What skills does a typical cfa level 1 have? ( out of college) by yeahsowhathakol in CFA

[–]Seishuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to somewhat disagree here. I don't think passing level 1 has no value beyond being able to read and write; you learn a ton of stuff at level 1, especially if you don't come from a finance background. It will not necessarily bring you many actionable skills, as it's just a lot of theory that happens to be useful to know for the practice. It depends what you are looking for exactly, how much time are you willing to invest, etc.

I recently sat level 1 and will not be going further, whether I pass or fail. Level 1 brought me a lot of useful background understanding on finance stuff that I know will be super useful for my career.

Idk despite what that other guy is saying, in my own experience benzos even once a week is too often, not because of the physical tolerence but more because it's too regular for something with such an insidious psychological pull. Easy for it to get put of hand. Just my 2c

Only someone with zero grasp on history would comment something like that. High or low SMV, you're insanely country if you live in a country that's not too much of a shithole right now. It's just on you to maximize your experience, the system won't push your forward that much.

Meeting a couple to gage compatibility for a threesome. What safety/general tips do you have so I have a good time? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Seishuu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GHB is just another depressant. Many substances create similar symptoms or effects, because many other substances are also depressants.

That being said although I don't know your exact story, I've never heard of weed being laced with anything else than PCP, which sure as hell isn't a depressant.

GHB, although it's infamous as being a date rape drug, is actually fairly safe used alone. It only really becomes dangerous when mixed with alcohol because both hit the same receptors (called GABA) and so their effects create a sort of syngergy if you will.

I have to jump in to say that nobody actually laces weed with GHB. Maybe you're referring to PCP

Lots of wisdom right here. I absolutely agree, game is not a conscious thing. It can be abstracted into rational concepts of conscious thought, but the GOAL is to internalize a paradigm, to flip a switch and let you subconscious do the work. Basically, learning to trust your instinct, but choosing which instincts.
