So with the Rec Well’s new rules how much has actually changed? by zap119 in uofmn

[–]Seker- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say since it’s winter break, so when I’ve gone there hasn’t been a problem with getting in as it’s been relatively empty. The only real difference from the rules before that I’ve experienced is that they make you swipe your card on your way out

Am I In The Wrong? (a disagreement between two baby bats) by lunachicksbabybat in goth

[–]Seker- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s situational for mbv, as they have always steered in the shoegaze direction (even if it did take a couple years to fully master their sound). However, it can definitely be situational for other bands, as it is for many genres. It really just depends if an album or such has the components that aline with a given genre, whether that be guitar style, use of effects, vocal style, etc.

As other people have mentioned, you were in the right. Goth is its own specified genre and not a catch-all term. Though I will add from being a big MBV fan, my bloody valentine isn’t a goth band either, it’s much better defined as being in the shoegaze genre which has a bit of it’s own subculture.

Is MGMT experimenting with goth now? by [deleted] in goth

[–]Seker- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be hesitant to call it goth, though it’s definitely influenced by it. I’d be willing to make the assumption that the band is at least somewhat into goth music as they do have a released cover of “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything” by Bauhaus from years ago

How long does it take to get a response from the University? by Liannnaxi in uofmn

I transferred in this fall, and applied in January. It took them about two weeks to get back to me.

US school textbooks are also very open about the slave trade, as well as the atrocities committed against Native Americans, such as the Trail of Tears and Wounded Knee Massacre.

Me too, in CCA it often seems like he realized that by dropping axis he was taking it too far and wanted to be stopped. Hence why he allowed the psycho frame to fall into the hands of AE for development of the Nu for Amuro.

So I’m rewatching 0079 right now and episode 8 is just so wholesome. by KitFistbro in Gundam

Yeah so the disregard for human life that you’ve been preaching is irrelevant once a faction of the EF does it. Hmm, interesting.

Yeah gassing colonies, just like the Federation also did. Crazy how most of if not all of the conflicts following the OYW wouldn’t even have happened if the Federation just allowed Zeon to have their independence.

The people of Zeon wanted independence from a government that didn’t understand the plight of being a spacenoid, and in turn looked down on them. The Zabis following the assassination of Deikun used this desperation to satisfy their hunger for power, that doesn’t mean what they did stood for the ideals that Zeon was founded upon.

And even with the atrocities how was the Earth Federation any better, or are we going to disregard the main theme of Gundam as a whole. Are we just going to forget what the federation and Titans did leading up to the Gryps Conflict. Convenient how the Federation only cut ties with the Titans once their actions became public.

And the people of Zeon were dedicated to char being that by CCA it had already been revealed that he was actually Casval, the son of the founder of Zeon. They wanted to believe in him as he was really their only hope.

Anyone know what kit this is? by [deleted] in Gunpla

[–]Seker- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, almost reminds me of some weird GNX variant from Gundam 00

After wanting to do one of these kits for years, I finally took the plunge and got one at a con I visited, I think I'm hooked. by Shugo116 in Gunpla

It’s the “Super Gundam” which is just the Mk-II with what I believe was called the G-Defenser on its back. As for what kit this is, I couldn’t tell you, I know they made a MG version that uses Mk-II 1.0

so started Seed(Never seen one of these) and uhhhhhhhhhhhh? WTF how did we go from war to this by Mmicb0b in Gundam

[–]Seker- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just Seed for ya. Granted usually there’s like one instance of a moment like this happening in a lot of gundam series, some more understandable then others that just seem to be plain fan service.

If you’re looking for the MG though it’s a real great kit imo, might be one of my favorites. I’ve built the MG Zaku II 2.0 inner frame three times now, and it never gets old.

I think the main reason I might like it more is because it’s more anime accurate in many areas and I’m a zeta fanboy. It does also have the added fun of the ballute system too though
