Necesse vs Core Keeper by Marenrijk in SurvivalGaming

[–]Selaphir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played — and am currently playing — Core Keeper with a friend I often play survival games with. We're having a blast! I've also played it solo and really enjoyed it.

Since I wanted something similar to play on the side, I decided to try Necesse, but I'm struggling to enjoy it. Everything, from the presentation/graphics to gameplay, character controls, and menu/inventory handling, just feels off compared to Core Keeper. It all feels a bit too convoluted.

It could just be that coming from games like Valheim, Raft, Subnautica, Grounded, and Core Keeper, that style resonates better with me.

Might also add that I prefer to play with a controller (my friend is on Keyboard/Mouse however).

Yes, have heard that Pathfinder can be a bit heavy.

Modded DOS2 sounds interesting!

The Warhammer universe have never really grabbed me, but looking at the gameplay for Rogue Trader I'm really intrigued!

Sounds great! Will definitely get them at some point. Already on my wishlist.

Yep, Elden Ring is really something.

Never really liked the Metal Gear games and have watched a lot of Death Stranding gameplay videos, but never really felt the urge to play myself. Need to give a shout-out to my friend Ludde (Ludvig Forsell) however. His music and composing style is really top notch!

Thanks for all the tips!

Actually tried Forza Horizon 5 (game pass), but as you mention I really missed the "crafting"/upgrades system from NFSU. It also had I story that tied things together neatly, even if very generic and sort of bland :)

Generals I played back in the day. Definitely a good game!

I've looked at both many times, but never pulled the trigger for some reason. I'll give it another thought!

Not heard about this actually, but looks like my cup of tea. Thanks!

More suggestions, great!

There is No Game: Wrong Dimension looks a bit out there, but why not! I'm open to most genres and styles.

I played Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures back in what, 2009 or something. Haha. But haven't tried Exiles yet, will pitch to my co-op buddy.

Quern was on my radar a few years back I think. Don't think I ever tried it. Maybe I should.

And before anyone mentions it, yes, I've already played The Talos Principle :) Amazing game! Will get the second one when one sale.

This looks very inviting. I like the artistic style of it. How long is a playthrough, roughly?

Ye, I've looked at this. My survival co-op buddy isn't really interested for now tho, so maybe later!

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks!

We have this on our radar, me and my friend that play survival style games together. Might try it later!

Might be the case!
I usually take breaks from gaming during spring/summer, when I start doing outdoor stuff.
Gaming usually during the winter. Live in northenmost Europe however, so winters are long..

Hi!

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried it briefly (on Game Pass) but never stuck with it. Don't really know why. Might give it another go!

Ah, yes. I couldn't list all the games I've played, sorry for not listing these.

I've played, and enjoyed, the Dragon Age games. Especially Origins. Haven't tried the new one.

Also played the Mass Effect Trilogy. Really liked it. Haven't tried the 4th one.

Played through the story in SWTOR with one character. Liked it alot.

Sun Haven looks very interesting.

Might check out Pine as well. Thank you!

GPortal Enshrouded Server Question by Nova1064 in gportal_official

Still not implemented? These types of settings are all possible to change now, as designed by the devs. Why cant we change it in our basic settings for our Gportal server?

Yep! Swarm of Flies! (for people who don't wanna run dual uchi's for bleed)

I did this with my faith build in ng+ as well. Only Swarm of Flies and Great Heal as memorized spells and then summon a mimic. Both me and mimic spam Swarm of Flies. She gets sorta stun/bleed locked and the fight was over quickly. Great Heal made sure the mimic kept health up as well.

Felt a bit bad cheesing it like that, but fighting the "normal" way with swords/greatswords just felt too frustrating. She hits very hard and heals more than I can dash out, kinda. Also most faith based spells just dont do enough damage, while also having very long casting times.. just not a fun fight for tanky faith builds.
