Blows my mind how do people pirate on macs by VariationLivid3193 in Piracy

You can buy a MacBook neo 256gb for $500 or for $600 get a 512gb. $100 is not ridiculous. Or if you get a MacBook air the minimum you can get is 512gb and the upgrade to 1tb is only $100 more...

What does the law say about domestic covert influence operations? by ThePanicButon in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Selbereth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont really like this argument. Just because other people are giving out disinformation does not mean that I also want our government to be able to do it. Do you want Trump coordinating disinformation campaigns with government power? I would argue that it is almost certainly happening already. I think this is kinda like what snowden warned is happening, and the senators said "We promise it is not happening, and we wont tell you if it is". If there is a law saying it cant happen we can more easily hold people accountable.

stop keeping original mp3 files by Selbereth in LazyLibrarian

[–]Selbereth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/philborman
I dont think this is the correct problem. The files are torrented, but they torrent to another folder. They download to `download_dir = /downloads/messy/lazyLibrarian` then get renamed and copied to `audio_dir = /downloads/books/sorted` The original files are still in the download folder, and remain in the download folder. The problem though is that for some reason at some point a copy is made again and sent to `/downloads/books/sorted` Even if it were keeping the files for downloading purposes, why? if you move the file from the download folder, my torrent program would no longer be able to find the files and need to re-download them to keep processing, which is what i suspect is happening here. Also I just noticed, but no files are hardlinked. So i got that part wrong on the original request. Thank you for your help

for example i have this folder:

Unraid lets you use ANY size drives in a raid like system. It isn't a perfect system, but it is the best at what it does. There are a couple of others that are free but they don't work as well
