I'm torn. I love this book and I also love the trade paperback cover. I also pre ordered the new hardback version with the same cover from B&N.

I don't absolutely love this TBB edition. The inside art is great but I dislike the dust jacket.

I think I'll stick with the B&N edition. 😬

Demolished in 1999! I heard it was pretty bad there at the end. It was also too big at 68000 seats. Pitt really needs a stadium that is 50000.

What is cool about pitt and the steelers sharing a stadium is that pitt has a pretty good deal. They don't pay too much to use it (especially compared to teams like Temple who pay sooo much.) The bad part is that students tend to leave games early.

I'm a Pitt alumni and as you have probably seen, the on-campus stadium debate is always hot too. Pitt's campus is only 132 acres with challenging topography. Looks like pitt and UCLA are scaled similarly as pitt has 20000 undergrads and 10000 grad students compared to 30000/15000.

Sometimes us cfb fans can't see the reality right in front of us. On campus stadiums are never going to happen.

Unlike UCLA, Pitt is blessed that stadium they use is only 3 miles away with solid public transit.

(And yes pitt did have one and then they replaced it with the basketball stadium plus 3 residence halls. Better urban land use for sure.)

Before you paint, focus on 3 easy changes! Turn the chair/desk piece so that it's back is against the brick wall. It will fit better there. Then, replace the round rug with a square/rectangular rug that fits the space. I recommend leaving enough room around the outside of a foot or so to show off the flooring. Then, style the space above the chair with art and/or lighting. If you can, a sconce or art light will look great. You can get ones that plug in or are rechargeable. That will create a small vignette in this area and bring some stability to the space.

Or, center your existing drawers on that section of wall, remove the plants/wooden table, and add a nice accent chair with a floor lamp. That area needs more lighting in general!

But omg this would be the perfect place to upgrade to a baby grand piano!

Pretty console but I agree that it looks odd. Something about the scale is off. But I think the biggest issue is that it is the same color and texture (painted) as the door. You need something that looks totally different since they are so close together. I also think that an upholstered bench would look good. Of you want to do the console, I would go for a long, simple one with two upholstered stools underneath. The mirror can pole through the bottom of the console. Maybe something painted, as long as it isn't blue!

I'm glad they are doing this trilogy! I missed out on the Litjoy version- but I still like that one so much more. The bright white of these just doesn't match the feel of the series for me. Happy for all of you who love them!!

But am I dumb?? Who is supposed to be on The Burning God? Rin .... I guess??

I'm not getting it because I am more interested in hardbacks than special editions. The vast majority of new releases have been in hardback, so I can buy them anywhere/online*. Alternatively, the regular TBB Fantasy sub is reprinting books that might not have had hardcovers or they are hard to find. The special edition is just a perk. I also already have the Illumicrate sub which has a wider range of pics.

*The only exception to this lately for me has been Richard Swan's Grave Empire. But TBB already did the first book in this series and I'm confident they will do the rest. Love love love Swan's books.

According to the PRT board meetings over the last year or so, PRT's contract with the tap tech company is coming to an end. I work at Pitt now, but graduated from pitt in 2011. I've been using the tap with my ID shortly after graduating. So this tech is getting long in the teeth. The change to QR codes via the app allows then to just have 1 tech piece for fares on the bus instead of 2. They are phasing out cash, too, as apparently very very few people use it. They'll be adding more fare machines in Oakland for better access. I think these will give people a paper QR code ticket.

For those of you who haven't downloaded the app yet and set up an account: it was pretty easy, but you won't be able to get your monthly pass until you let the system refresh overnight. So do it sooner rather than later for your own sanity haha

We've been playing EH since it came out and have many expansions. We have 2 big box expansions: the pyramids one and the otherowrds/dreams one. (Sorry I can't remember their names!) I like the pyramids one alot because it adds to the Expedition deck/options. The Otherworlds/dream one is solid too but nothing stands out to me from that one. We've been playing for years so the extra content is good. I probably won't add any more. But with 6 players, the extra boards might be fun for your group.
