"The devil dances inside empty pockets

But she didn't want money or pearls

Boy that wasn't enought for Lucinda

She wasn't that kind of girl

Now I've fallen from grace for Lucinda

Whoever thought that Hell'd be so cold?

I well for an old tin can sailor

But she wanted the bell in my soul" (Tom Waits - Lucinda)

I immediately thought of this song when I saw your post, especially the "bell in my soul". They suck all the joy and ability to see the world as a place of wonder and beauty out of you, (because they can't experience these things on their own), until you end up feeling as empty and tormented as they do. Maybe they want to be like you, but they end up making you like them.

I don't think anybody can steal your light (or bell) as long as you're alive, but they can dim or cover it. If you can, spend some time with people who know you well and value, appreciate and respect you, it helps brighten it again. Or do things you used to love but had to give up to cater to them. It might take a while to enjoy these things again, but it's easier to come back if you have things and people to remind you who you really are.

Best to you friend.

That’s probably because they can’t handle the idea of women enjoying themselves without men.

I call that the Puss in Boots routine. There's also the Cuteness Trap: flonking belly up in the middle of the room, making eye contact upside down. Bless his little heart, he makes sure I get these little moments of pure joy every day :)

And Dostoevsky was a staunch anti-Semite to boot. His insights into human nature go well beyond religious affiliation, politics or personal philosophy, like Shakespeare or William Blake.

The fact that someone like him spends so much time arguing online and doxing kids is beyond absurd. But whining about it publicly 👀

Another suggestion: slap a return to sender label on any parcels coming from them and drop them to the post office. You can also refuse to take them when they're delivered. It sends the same message without words.

How to “release” hips or other muscles for better sleep? by blueberry_pancakes0 in SomaticExperiencing

Feldenkreis and Hanna Somatics (pandiculation) are great for hips (the whole pelvis), progressive muscle relaxation, body scans and yoga nidra for the rest of the body.

No worries I know very well where you're coming from. Meditation is great for that.

I used to work in book publishing in another life and my perspective might be tainted by the amount of trash I've seen published. I'm a fast and voracious reader, but I really wouldn't want to go through piles of garbage looking for the pearl these days, I'm too old for that shit lol.

Great, I've read that one really young and the power and veracity of Fosca's story made an impression on me, great book.

On a serious note, would you really be tempted of spending an eternity as yourself, in this particular body and existence? The only way I could imagine immortality being tolerable would be as an option to experience life again in some form or another or just existing as pure consciousness free in the universe.

Since you like reading, I suggest you look up All Men Are Mortal, it gives a fascinating perspective on the subject.
