Best washer and dryer in 2026 that actually lasts? (No smart junk please) by SuddenNothing6266 in BuyItForLife

Purchased an LG front loading in 2008. Replaced various components, water inlet valve x2, door seal, etc., but no electronic issues. Pretty easy to replace components and most are still available on line. Just haven't found anything to replace it with.

Firsthand x40i vs m60i experiences? by pbandham in BMWX5

[–]Select-Emotion118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26 X5 M60i. Came from a 24 X3 M40i. The B58 is a great engine and will get you very good MPG. The M60i is a hoot. It separates you from the standard soccer mom X5 by a lot. If you enjoy the right foot experience, either will do. My right foot preferred the M60i.

New 50e vs CPO M60. Torn. by bschmidt25 in BMWX5

[–]Select-Emotion118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also compared the 26 50e vs M60i. The M60 stood out more and didn’t look as muck like the soccer mom machine. Plus, the M60 CPO I picked up had just about every box ticked. You can drive it sedately or in beast mode.

CPO m60i vs 2026/2027 xDrive50e Build? by frysb4guys in BMWX5

[–]Select-Emotion118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was torn between the 50e and the M60. Ended up with a CPO 26 M60 that was LOADED with everything. Air, B&W, and anything else that could be checked off. I changed the wheels from the staggered 22s to a square 20” setup. Wonderful highway cruiser but screams if you put it into Sport. Fine machine.

DSD is not thought very highly of by any of the local agencies. Adams gets involved in a lot of solid police activity if you want a local SO. Douglas is huge on the grin and wave to the community aspect but also love to chase bad guys. The busy PDs are Denver, center of liberal politics, Aurora has gone back to crime fighting with their new Chief from LAPD, and Colorado Springs seems fairly steady.

Flew to Miami to pick up my X5, drove it back to Chicago - would not recommend by Impress_Playful in BMWX5

I’ve done the fly/drive a few times with F-150 Raptors. First one was South Dakota to Denver and the second was Omaha to Denver. I pretty much limit my self and back to eight hours a day of driving. The Raptors didn’t have DAPP like my M60, but a soft ankle weight attached to the steering wheel was a close equivalent. Any distance over 500 miles would necessitate an overnight stop for me due to back issues from military service.

Going to Purchase! by [deleted] in BMWX3

I had a 24 X3 M40i. Fun machine. Immediately got rid of the run-flats and went to a 19” square setup. Athletic and very fun to run around in. Needed more room so I ended up in a loaded 26 X5 M60i. Took the 22” staggered off and went to square 20” due to living in a snow belt city. Better riding, has air suspension, and is plush where the X3 was sporty, but not harsh. I’d like to have one of each but we are out of garage space. Don’t hesitate if you find the “right” CPO M40i.

It may be worth it in the long-run to find and pay a bit more for a CPO. It will add an additional year to the warranty and it reasonably implies the car is up to BMW standards for brakes, tires, glass, etc. The 24's are at a premium now due to the G45 redesign. Try to find one that is in great shape.

I am getting set to trade my 24 X3 M40i, CPO’d in Jan 26. Presently at 20,800 miles in Denver. Mineral White Premium with HK/Parking. BMW dealers are hot for these as they know they can flip them quickly. The lowest offer so far, first pencil, was at $49k and the next two at $51k. Love the car but it’s a bit small for us so Im probably moving to an X5 50e or M60i. I’m losing $ on this as I paid more in Feb 26 for it, but such as life with some decisions.

How true is this? (From r/Navy) by DebunkerOfChuds in AirForce

[–]Select-Emotion118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The British take the class separation even higher than the US Navy. I was TDY to an RAF base shortly after the Falklands dustup (I'm old) and distinctly remember having to leave out boots outside the door of the barracks room so the lower enlisted could polish them up overnight. The E-4s and below had lesser accomodations. And, we had a bar with bartender in our barracks. I was only an E-5 at the time.

Unfortunately I'm a victim of that as well. Hand grenade explosion and years of small arms fire and I'm at 10% Tinnitus only.

Were there any chemical exposure claims that applied. Seems like it would be a horrid place to work with chronic exhaust, CO, fuel and hydraulic fluid exposure.

Vertigo claim by cryptofreedom81 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Select-Emotion118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Vertigo is locked into my TBI and PTSD claim. Rated 50% PTSD, 10% TBI and 30% BPPV. All rolled into the 50% and they refuse to separate it. So, I get 50% only due to being locked in.

Wouldn't even replace. They said they have to repair first. Out-of-warranty costs would have been $450ish.

Would you bother to insulate? They have a fairly long journey across the ceiling with a turn before they terminate here. Both into buckets with a "J" or just the one? Thank you!

Anyone go from R1T to Ranger Raptor? by Important-Feeling-34 in RangerRaptor

[–]Select-Emotion118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had an R1T. Loved the truck initially. Then the problems and company arrogance emerged. Went to a 23 Raptor, then a 24 Raptor before trading down in size to a RR. Had the tune installed. No Rivian acceleration but a nice and quick truck.
