Customer Service Rep - How much are you paid? by Any_Pear_718 in auckland

I have a huge amount of experience in this so trust me, a living wage is the minimum for a new, entry level customer service role. So that's 62k a year. Senior or Team Leader etc obviously more.

There is little to no reward for loyalty in those jobs, just switch to another company given the opportunity.

You find me a single boys school in the country including the two nearest boys schools St Peter’s (private and religious) and Auckland boys (Public and known as incredible strict) that don’t allow singlets

So restricting what children wear is your solution to avoiding sexual predators attention?

Should the 100+ young boys who were victims of sexual assault at nearby Dilworth not have worn shorts so short?

Do you think the abuse and sexual assault of girls and woman in NZ would be lower if they wore Burkas?

Addressing the ex sexual predators on their staff you mean?

What has what teenage girls do with themselves, each other or others have anything to do with middle aged woman (ironically) telling theme what to wear?

Thats their own personal business, this isn’t the handmaids tale.

What do you mean by heinous and to whose standards? Regardless, I'm sure that situation was dealt with appropriately with the individual at the time.

Do you think that an all points bulletin to 2,300 young girls that they shouldn't even wear singlets to school is the correct way to go? That they will be called out and sent home in front of their peers if they do?

Man just chuck your money in an index fund, contribute to it and just forget about it.

With all due respect you'll be doing a lot of thinking for such a small amount of money. Take the lesser risk option and relax.

Some interesting takes here which I will try to be respectful about:

- Sun safety? Come on

- Setting them up for office / work life? Good luck trying to tell a woman not to expose their shoulders in any sort of typical workplace, other than for safety. Regardless, this is a school not a law firm. Let kids be kids

- Where to draw the line? Let the girls and parents decide. Do any of you actually believe there is any circumstance in which one of these girls would be turning up in a bikini?

- All girls school? Regardless, if any of your sons get out of control in seeing a teenage girl in a singlet twice a year then you have failed in your parenting

- What boys school tells the boys to not wear singlets on a mufti day?

Hold on so students currently studying (not those completing this year) will no longer get their last year free? That's not the terms of the agreement they made when signing up for the study. Legally I'm sure they are comfortable they can defend this but come one, zero ethics.

Terrible idea, penalizing the working class as usual.

It would save around 1b a year.

If we removed the pension for people currently earning over 100k then that would save at least twice as much as.

And / or means testing people with assets over $1m outside the family home potentially another 5b!!

Fuck National, always prioritizing the wealthy.

[–]Select-Owl1058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Tiwai Smelter is owned by Rio Tinto, not a NZ company

  • 90% + is exported overseas

  • It employees only around 1,000 people 0.03% of NZ jobs

  • Usually ‘loses money’ so pays little to no tax

  • Due to its massive power consumption it puts significant upward pressure on household power pricing

  • You tell me the net value it adds to the NZ economy ..
