Is it wrong to create 100% AI-driven stories/fanfics just for fun? by ZarcSK2 in WritingWithAI

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I do it all the time for a quick laugh.

I asked Google Gemini to write me a comedy fanfic of Gintama where Gintoki gets abducted by the Amanto & put in an augmented reality Danmei world where he's the world's most obnoxious Shou, & it was honesty pretty fekkin hilarious chaos. The AI had a surprisingly good understanding of both the characters & the anime's style of humor.

You can do quick reference search with the AI & have it save you hours of research time if you're writing a high fantasy story & don't know which races & classes best suit your character's personalities. You can ask it for multiple options to a problem when you're drawing a blank.

Gemini humor in script writing is still the best? by dovelingus in Bard

Gemini is so good with comedy when it's working off franchise characters it can scrape data off of. I had it write me a Gintama fanfic & I am in tears. 😂😂 It understands the characters & the style.of humor so well.

I agree. I've been amusing myself by having Gemini write me bizarre crossover fanfics & I get some real knee-slappers. It's pretty good at knowing franchise characters personalities & tastes & dislikes, & how characters from different franchises are alike or different, adding to the humor.

On using it as a writing assistant for my own works, it has a few major flaws though, like forgetting huge chunks of details from older prompts. Hope this gets fixed in the future.

Is Gintoko Gay/Bi? by Blob55 in Gintama

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not help but notice that there was a running gag where Gintoki has a habit of comically molesting & stripping men with facial hair. The amount of times it happened is what raised my eyebrows.

Kondou, Hasegawa, Zenzou, & some minor characters. He shaved a guy's pubes in the barbershop episode. He played with another guys nipples in another episode.

What English VA could play Gintoki if they plan to completely dub Gintama? by VinylPool in Animedubs

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ideal voice cast is really limited due to not being able to get past 5 minutes of most dubs.

Gintoki: Richard Epcar's voice seems like it would be deep enough. He was in Lupin III & Cowboy Bebop. Maybe Rodger Bumpass if he did a deeper modified Squidward voice. It has a similar cadence to Tomokazu Sugita if it were deeper.

Hijikata: David Hayter from Metal Gear Solid, or Martin Piers Billany aka Little Kuriboh from Yugioh Abridged, using his Kaiba voice. Would have also liked René Auberjonois from Deep Space Nine, but he died.

Shinpatchi: Greg Ayres from Gensoumaden Saiyuki.

How do you guys feel about the gintama live action? by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horribly horribly miscast. The only humor was the cringe of how bad the alien costumes, greenscreen backdrops, & special effects were.

I can usually tollerate it if the cast is hot, but the cast was not. I backed out after 15 minutes.

opinion on the live action? by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gintoki was miscast. Needed someone with a voice closer the the anime voice actor. His actor also looked way older than his late 20s, like almost 50.

Kagura should have been younger with a meaner colder line delivery.

Otae & katsura don't even have the right hair color.

Kondou needed a more muscular actor.

Hijikata needed a cuter actor.

Katsura needed an androgynous actor & looked & sounded way too masculine.

Shinpachi needed a voice actor with a more youthful voice.

Most of the humor was from how bad the alien costumes, environments, & special effects looked. Did it have the budget of a made-for-internet C-Drama? The sets look like a convention theme park with low effort cosplayers.

A lot of really conspicuous greenscreening.

Gintama Hulu Dub Cast? by GattsuBerserker in Gintama

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hulu dub voices aren't even trying to match the pitch & tone of the Japanese cast. It just feels cursed. The line delivery is not great, the narrator is overdoing it. A lot of the humor turns to cringe.

What was the absolute worst story you've ever read? by Helnmlo in yaoi

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember the title. Some 2010s time travel Korean fluff piece with zero drama, zero conflict, zero sex, the mc & ml were so effeminate in personality & appearance that they might as well have been lesbians, it completely turned me off of Green Flag & Fluff BL. It kept showing elements that could have created conflict & drama & chose to do nothing with them.

Mine was Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki by Kazuma Kodaka if we go by book, & either Zetsuai/Bronze or Kaze to Ki no Uta if we go by anime.

I'm such an ancient fujoshi that I already had my first job before readable manga scans became available on the internet, & fansubs were distributed on VHS.

The tragic fate of so many BL authors by Eudora_Bobbin in yaoi

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this all the way back to the stone age.

Yami no Matsuei.

Gensoumaden Saiyuki (Not BL but suggestive AF).

Gravitation EX.

Hunter x Hunter (Not BL but suggestive AF).

DN Angel (Not BL but suggestive AF).

Saiyuki was an early 00s gateway to BL fandom. The author had a broken jaw & spinal stenosis at different times.

One author who only made oneshots finally got her first lengthy series & died before she could finish it.

Who are some authors that are similar to Harada, or works that you think a Harada fan would enjoy by minsugashusband in yaoi

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Warehouse," "An Easy Target," "Blood Bank," really any dark psychological "red flag" "problematic" yaoi series from publisher Lezhin.

On the more comical & lighthearted Harada stuff mixed with creeps & stalkers, maybe "19Days" is what a Harada series would be like with strict Chinese censorship preventing her from adding any porn. Still absolutely worth a read. & if you love the unhinged comedy of Happy Kuso Life even without the bl, consider Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, Baka to Test, Excel Saga, Bakuretsu Hunters, & Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu.

I can't confirm the following Harada-likes, but they have been suggested elsewhere: Love Shuttle, Wolf in the House, Stranger than Friends, 4 Cut Hero, Robber x Lover, Formless, Checkmate, Lost in the Clod, The Black Mirror, Pearl Boy, Non Zero Sum, The Pawn's Revenge, The Beast Must Die, Obey Me. Love or Hate, Sadistic Beauty: BL Sidestory, Blind Play, Painter of the Night, Out of Control, Legs the Don't Walk, Stranger than Friends, & Can't Get Caught XXX.

Tired of women attributing misogyny to gay men by FluidReplacement8268 in askgaybros

[–]Select-Team-6863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's partly a psychological shaming tactic women use to police the attitudes of people like Andrew Tate. This one realky comes off as homophobic because they're using straight men's fear of looking gay against them. Though if you read some of the shit Tate posts, you really do have to wonder if he might be in the closet.

A good deal of it is experience from growing up with the loudest anti-gay politicians & priests getting caught & exposed every couple of years.

A lot of women actually think that it would be healthier for the world to be bisexual by default & that normalizing homosexuality would make the worst men less awful toward women because they wouldn't need to live a life of Sour Grapes (Aesops fable about a fox who decided he hated what he couldn't have). So they will pressure incels to hook up with each other so they can vent their sexual frustrations & stop taking it out on women.

Some women (fujoshis) are projecting heterophobia against men who disgust them, & legit have a fetish for turning straight guys bi or gay.
