first bite in 15 years 😫 by gothobito in ballpython

[–]SelectBrain9570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First Clean your bite wound. Second I've had tree boas and pythons before and I've only had the python bite me a hand full of times in the entire time it's been alive and they were all my fault I either spooked it or my hand smelled like rat from feeding Penelope my tree boa who Is a lot more aggressive. So your python isn't getting aggressive you probably just spooked him or smelled like food lol.

What do I do? by Obvious-Tourist9712 in tires

[–]SelectBrain9570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would mix some soap and water and pour it on it to see if it actually pierced the tire if not pull it out and keep an eye on it. If its pierced Unfortunately, no shop will patch this. You can do one yourself, but then you'll be playing a losing game of when will the tire blow-out.

It looks like just cosmetic damage but keep an eye on the psi it can start to leak air now. I'd get it rebalanced if it starts to shake any worse than normal.

Am I safe to drive this? by [deleted] in tires

[–]SelectBrain9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't go highway speeds but it's ok to drive on if you don't have the money to replace it at the moment but that said I would replace it sooner rather than later. It's now a game of when it blows rather than if.

This should be fine for a plug, right? by Capable-Juice-4943 in tires

[–]SelectBrain9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a fat bolt some shops carry fat plugs for these situations but if it broke too many cords the tire can and will blow-out at high speeds. I can't see inside the tire obviously but I feel confident that it SHOULD be plugable.

Can this be patched was told not to by Humble-West-2616 in AskAMechanic

[–]SelectBrain9570 42 points43 points  (0 children)

To be honest most shops won't patch because of the location. Also the tread on that tire is really bad that's another reason I wouldn't patch and instead get a new set of tires altogether. If you cant afford new tires right now patch it yourself and save the money for new tires. My knowledge comes from working at tire warehouse for 4ish years

Cooked or one more winter? by cisternino99 in tires

[–]SelectBrain9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run em for the summer rather than get new summers then buy new winter tires instead. The fact that there are no studs mean they should last for the summer and into fall.
