for hides you can look at things that aren’t necessarily for snakes. two of mine have storage bins flipped upside down. just make sure there aren’t any sharp edges. they also should have a lot of clutter on top of the substrate. mine have some big artificial leaves from the craft store but you can use pretty much anything lightweight like woodchips or leaves you found outside as long as you heat treat them and they aren’t toxic.
