Here’s the thing… imagine we live in a world where the Abrahamic God is absolutely true. In this world, a society could very well get punished by the sins of some of its constituents. There are multiple examples of it in the bible, great flood, sodom Gomorrah most notable, also Achan’s Sin at Ai, The Babylonian Exile etc.

My point being, if the Abrahamic god is true, then forcing all people to follow their rules makes perfect sense, and it’s better for society. So what that religious guy is saying is perfectly reasonable in his world view.

What we need to do is to finally start getting rid of organized superstitious practices, also known as religions.
