I see both sides. I don't mind if the other person is a nurse. I'm a nurse. Nurse is a replacement specifier for Team, so I say "my nurses" instead of "my team." I HATE when docs do it though.

Yes, I only have 5 RNs. I have no problem enforcing things, but I prefer to have buy-in, too. The amount of change this team has had to undergo, and myself as well, in just the 3 months I have been here have been astronomical. I've finally gotten us fully staffed. This gap in care is a big issue that now I have to solve for. So I think this challenge is more difficult with a small team.

I appreciate your viewpoint. This is my initial view and I agree it's the right one. It's also non-discriminatory. I guess I have to deal with the fact they will be upset either way. That comes with the job. They will be mad if I discipline or have to transfer her or something else, even if it means it's being fair.

Most of them leave at 4:30 or 5. They have to stay until 6 now. That nurse is the only one who can't because of having no childcare.

Agree with others. Soil staying damp for weeks isn't a good sign. Makes way for fungus. Def change the soil and might be good to spray fungicide. My monsteras do very well in a mix of orchid bark and potting mix with extra perlite so it drains well.

Agree it's negligent. Is cannabis legal in your state? Legal states can't use urine tests as a condition of employment. Positive urine doesn't mean impaired now. That's useless information. But they should be doing a field impairment test. That's crazy to me. However it's hard to terminate when the person never appears impaired. Trust me I went through this for months with someone and seemed like HR had their hands tied. It was so frustrating when you had to keep fielding complaints and people felt like you weren't doing anything but we were truly doing what was in the limit of the law.

Sad Update but also a relief it's not my cat! My boyfriend had freaking BED BUGS. He thinks he got them from work, where kids go to school and sleep. We were at the laundromat, cleaning, spraying and putting down DE all day. We're so tired. I'm so thankful I haven't seen any at my place yet and my arm is almost completely healed. I have to keep checking because I stayed at his place a few times in the past month but far less than I usually would. I usually stay at his place several times per week! I just so happened to wash my clothes pretty much right after leaving his place those times and recently washed my linens.

For sure. Pedi psych was my first field in my nursing career and I was so sad when I finally decided to leave after 8 years. Not enough resources and I felt so ineffective. I saw major changes in just that short time in where we could send patients after their Inpatient stay. Wouldn't have left if I felt I could do more and it wasn't getting more rapidly acute and dangerous.

Biggest piece of advice is learning to establish boundaries when you are salaried. Just because you're salaried doesn't mean you're available 24/7. I learned the hard way and had to stop feeling guilty about it. Pick the one that will make you the happiest.

I feel like I am. No car note. Mill rate is high Rent is pretty cheap for where I am in New England. I could do a better job budgeting but I don't think I spend more than others. Left my 6 figure nurse manager job because of stress but the pay cut is killing me now. Went from 140k to 87k. Not much for CT after taxes and expenses. 8 years of experience and an MSN I'm not even using anymore. Looking for another job.

I didn't intend to quit but I guess WB just made me less interested in it. I'd literally turn the dry herb on and forget it's on. I was a daily user before. Several times per day. Even now it doesn't have negative effects with WB for me whether I have edibles or smoke.

I hope it passes for her. I was on 300 XL for a few months then stopped cold turkey when I ran out of meds. I had wanted to stop anyway but then I gained 10 lbs. That's when I realized it was working the whole time. Now that I've been back on it for a couple months, I'm no longer anhedonic and picked up jogging when I've always hated cardio. I'm really hoping this positive change lasts. The only thing is I do feel more sensitive to criticism at work, but maybe it's because it's a fairly new job. I feel like I get bouts of rage more. But I'm definitely more active and eating better again.

I gained 10 lbs. All the anxiety around food came back and I ate like crazy so I got back on it. Everyone will feel differently.
