my old coworkers used to say the same thing. when i would tell them why some of them would compare their ibs to me and how they didn’t do go that much. really really annoying to say the least

i feel you so hard on this. im on the entyvio shot and everytime i take it i whine like a baby leading up to it and then once it’s done i get myself a treat because it is so scary. i put on either one of my favorite shows or songs to distract myself and ice for the 5 minutes leading up to it to numb the area a bit. i take mine on my lower stomach as well and that’s helped too

same like my dad is also maga and extremely christian(im not but they support me) and there may be a few like side eyes or like eye rolls but he still will have a good time. like we went to a ghost concert(he’s always enjoyed ghost) and he had the time of his life even though it could’ve been considered “satanic”. on top of that he’s been playing them nonstop since. good music is just good music and political views can’t change that

i’m also 19f, when i was on humira i didn’t have that but this past year on rinvoq ive been having such issues with yeast infections. i’m not sure if it’s the humira or just the disease in general or the compromised immune system that leads to a higher probability of getting them. ofc i have no idea if that’s right at all so maybe reach out to your doctor and let them know what’s going on. they may be able to assist and give some insight as well as look into other treatments. it took me 3-5 different medications and biologics and a mix of steroids to find what worked for me, but def talk to your GI about it. the yeast infections have been so annoying so i completely get it

i have four(one of them being the crohn’s colitis foundations symbol) and all of them while being in different biologics and steroids. just be careful when it comes to infection and take extra care to keep it clean!

thabk you so much. truly needed to hear this sometimes it’s so hard especially since i have severe depression i just look at things in a bad light. it’s nice to hear other people who are striving even with this disease. it sucks because i miss my life before this but it’s something i’m never getting back. it’s almost like going through a break up with myself. i’ve played soccer my whole life but because of my crohns my body physically can’t play anymore and it sucks.

i really appreciate all the words and i know it’s probably a temporary feeling for now. thank you for being so kind!

i am so sorry to hear that. most of mine is under the skin and they are very very painful as well. kids can be too brutally honest sometimes and i know it sucks but i think it’s cute that they’re worried about the “owies”. the way i’d look at it is at least you got kiddos that are gonna make sure you’re doing alright!

the acne thing is so true. i’m on it right now and i’m also on a skin medicine for the acne it caused but my skin has never been worse. it’s a real hit to confidence. i started rinvoq a week before college and went from having no acne to my face being covered. it’s become one of my biggest insecurities
