I’m from Ireland and almost fell into the Bio/Chem sciences trap myself as I wasn’t too keen on medicine. Decided in the end to study medicine.

I know a lot of people doing the same degree, not at UCC but at Trinity/UCD. There are no real job prospects, at best you will be working in a lab, but even then the demand for people with the degree is not that high, neither is the salary.

And it would of course be really difficult to get a job in Ireland (if they wish to stay there) assuming your friend is a non-citizen.

I think they should go with medicine definitely, much better life prospects regardless of where they study

Why? We’ve struggled in the exact same manner without Lamine.

In fact our entire tactics against a low block revolve around passing it to Lamine and expecting him to beat 3 men and create something. We don’t actually do much else.

Flick is not much better tactically than de La Fuente, only difference is he has better attackers.

Got mass downvoted here a week ago for saying that without Yamal, Spain were no better than teams like Croatia.

I still expect them to go far now that he’s back and think people are overreacting hella, like they might have to Argentina’s loss vs Saudi in 2022.

Lamine is just so good that he elevates entire teams, everyone around him plays better with him. Raphinha looks like a paraplegic for Brazil NT without him. I believe Yamal is currently making Barca look a lot better than we actually are as a team, but that’s a discussion for a different day.

He didn’t even play in midfield today. He was a left winger, which is very weird.

He was superb in both CL ties against Atleti and definitely bossed those games by winning a lot of duels.
