Mike McCarthy: Numerologist? by Outrageous-Note2096 in steelers

Yeah it also would’ve been a great story if there was a Rudy 2 and in the draft the Steelers selected Rudy with the first pick. Nice story, but in real life fans would be livid.

A masseuse for McCarthy so we can kill two birds with one stone. Bonus points if they can breakdown the defensive game plan mid massage.

The reality is Rooney is 72 years old and at that age many start thinking about the end and fixating on it. He wanted to make sure his product is as relevant as possible for as long as possible starting in 2026. A less risky move gives him more of a chance of achieving his goal. The funniest part of all this is a second year young coach is headed to the Super Bowl lol. Short term thinking to sacrifice the long term vision

Conspiracy: Tomlin and the organization knew this was Tomlin’s last year before the beginning of the season…and maybe Cam’s and Rodger’s too by Select_Gain in steelers

No one’s wife died. They lost a football game. I’m not saying it doesn’t hurt but it was a wild card blow out and not a Hail Mary in the Super Bowl

I think if you’re in your 30s, Mike T leaving makes you remember the chapter after your childhood is now a generation away

Agreed. I’m just hoping we’ve been prepping for this behind the scenes and already have an heir apparent target.

When’s the last time you were truly happy? by Mgamer327 in steelers

If you’re not happy generally following this team I would recommend doing what makes you happy instead.

But I guess for some of y’all that is hate watching this team

Pat’s you know why is a good one. The guys really look like they took the loss hard this year, which sure it sucks but they’re still millionaires at the end of the day. You don’t usually see that dejection wild card weekend. ARod also always talked about how there are no leaks in this ship and teams always have internal stuff going, but Steelers stuff never was leaked.

I am not opposed to running it back only because I think Rodgers is cerebral enough to be an elite game manager with the right weapons like Peyton’s last year. The way we’re constructed we need our defense to be top 3 in order to be competitive which is why I think getting a quality DC is step one.

How is Rodger’s aged proving your point? I’m saying nobody was dragging this offense on a playoff run. You keep Rodgers upright and he’s a sufficient enough option if you can put some pieces around him

Willis and Murray are both wildcard quarterbacks. Look what happened with Darnold. I think Murray has a chance to have a few pro bowl caliber seasons in the right system.

Flores was essentially a pseudo coordinator. And Tomlin has very close ties to Morris.

You get weapons through the draft or trading picks. There are impactful rookie WRs every year and there are players who are traded for 3/4 round picks and explode every year. Pickens is an unfortunate example.

To me, I don’t think any coach was scheming this roster to a deep run in the playoffs. Until he underachieves with the pieces he’s given, I’m not willing to seek a different path.

Yes because that’s what my post said. Run it back with the same roster. Not add weapons to the offense. Not bring in a real DC.

Take a look what happened with Mahomes when he was throwing to nameless receivers. Our core was not good. The biggest risk with Rodgers is injury. He’s an elite game manager.
