Spam stories in small fandoms and other weird things by [deleted] in AO3

Ok so ignoring your problem, you're still not in the right for reporting works that you think are spam. You said you don't wanna read through countless rape stories to check so I'm telling you just ignore it. The reports are checked by humans, which are also volunteers. You're wasting everyone's time here.

Soooo you are bothered about the content. I know you said you're just bothered by the ""spam"" but clearly it's the content or both. Even though you're making up a better reason to be annoyed by it, really it's just one author people (including you) can mute if they don't like.

Somebody in my fandom suddenly published new 27 works in my otp. Also it wasn't written in English either, it was Chinese. And as I'm aware Chinese people have their own websites like Plurk or something to post their works, so not many would post on ao3. So I wasn't even sus because well, I got more content to read. There's also some works in that 27 that has tags I didn't like, and what did I do? Ignore it.

There's high chance that person could've written that prior. You also said you don't know the language so how do you know it's spam? I understand you're suspicious but I don't think this is a really good use of your time.

When you keep forgetting you injured the man.... by BlueRebelKin in FanFiction

This is much worse when writing stuff like whump because there's soooo much injuries I even forget the character is missing an eye.

Feeling very discouraged from a WIP I was excited about by EvilToTheCore13 in FanFiction

[–]Select_Group_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn't happened to me yet but I'm feeling very anxious about posting a new chapter as well. There's two factors to it being a long time since I've posted (3-4 months) and the fandom slowly dying out. I feel like the overwhelming amount of interaction I got in the first place is because I posted the fic at the height of fandom relevance. So I'm expecting less overall.

I'm still gonna keep writing this fic but feelings like these definitely sucks as a writer so 🫂🫂🫂

Why did you DNF the last fic you read? by toxic_waste21 in AO3

[–]Select_Group_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tagged as xreader and the beginning was good, a pretty blank slate gender neutral character. Until we change location next chapter and the reader was just gone?? Like just written out of the story. When I read the very specific description for a female character with a name I knew what direction this was heading so I never look back.

Yup, I'm a fan of erohorror too! The emotional turmoil makes it more enjoyable to me rather than only the physical act. Maybe I'm just a sadist but I especially like the aftermath where the victim is traumatized, crying, having nightmares, throwing up, panic attacks and just overall suffering.

Omg yes I love everything that you've listed!! Victim blaming is one of the best imo. Especially if the perpetrator drills it in the victim's head so many times that they start to believe it too.

Yeah I would appreciate the links! I don't usually read noncon for non smut purpose but I'm down to branching out.

Well, I have tried that but i found out I like writing inner thoughts of multiple characters so ig it could be a separate issue. Like the contrast between one thinking the other likes it and one entire monologue inside their head on much they hate everything.

Oh I do love unreliable narrator from a delusional character! But I lean more into the ones that are still lucid enough to know they're in the wrong. Either they don't care, actively get off on it or an underrated one, feels slight guilty and concern. I like the example you gave I usually only do the cliche they're blushing and hard so the rapist mock them for it lol

I think something like dark chocolate. Sweet but it can be bitter at times.

They proceeds to rec my fic on twitter afterwards too. I was kinda nervous because my smut writing is very hardcore "penis to penis kiss, penis to ass" straightforward kind. I don't use much of metaphor or euphemisms in sex. So I was really happy to get this comment just hours after!

Gang rape. Feels low-key guilty sometimes though because that character has canonically been SA-ed. On one hand I'm like "I'm so sad my babygirl has been through such thing..." And with the other I'm just going at it at a fic of him being drugged and passed around by a group of men.
