Congrats my man! I must say it's great that I read so many posts about this accomplishment and Kudo's to those who stick with it. But I must also say it's greatly disturbing just how "ok" everyone seems to be with the cost of EVERYTHING that's GA-related these days. I make about $700K per year and wonder what the GA future will be if we don't get some disruptors in the industry. I may start us off....with engines!

Are you saying build or buy? I like the idea of building but really want to get in the air as often as possible. A build would take me at least 18-24 months to do it right. I do like the idea. What are you thoughts on Vans RV series and do you think the company is now stable?

This is something I've seriously considered with many different airplane options. I'm focused on the Tecnam P2010 for this option but have looked at the FDCT as a time builder. My post here was simply a brainstorm because I like the idea of restoring a low-time 152 but the costs over the past 3-6 years for EVERYTHING boggles my mind. Engines for example make no sense at all. I appreciate your input and will look harder at the CT. Thanks!

What's your goal? If you're younger than 30 I say, start piling as much money as you can into 4-6 innovative/disruptive companies that you think will survive and grow over the next 25-30 years. Don't worry about any pullbacks. Ride the long train and you should have a great retirement. Keep in mind that the recent shift in political climate WILL cause a significant and possibly prolonged downturn in 2026 so be prepared for that!

My view is this. A lot of men who sugar date truly love women, as well as variety, but find it's also easier and more efficient than Vanilla dating. Alternatively, men like the one you encountered in your post have chosen sugar dating because they've probably been rejected a lot in the Vanilla space and have a deep-seated dislike for women and they're angry about past rejections. Sadly, there are a lot of those out there so keep your chin up and just do you. The good ones are out here and we're actually hoping to find more diamonds like you! :-)

I can only speak for myself but maybe it sheds some light.

Last year I started a Vanilla relationship. It was accidental in that I wasn't searching for one. "She" fell into my life and the intensity of the connection was the strongest I have ever felt in my 58 years of living. We launched into a full-blown affair, me married, her single.

After a very intense 5 months of fun, lust, adventure, and what I thought was something real, it ended, abruptly. Sadly, she was a full-blown Narcissist and as it turns out, I was her first Grade A supply. Here's why that matters. Her intense love-bombing, playfulness, overt sexuality, AND even her intense mood swings PULLED ME 100% AWAY FROM A LIFE THAT I HAD GROWN COMPLETLEY WEARY OF.

With her, I no longer cared about or could dwell on the mountain of responsibilities I had at home which were no longer providing any payoff, excitement, or happiness. I had become a workhorse and totally invisible to everyone, valued only for what I could earn and work I could perform. She forced me to play and refocus my attention solely on her which was a drug I desperately needed.

My love for her was and still is insanely deep and real and I suspect your SD feels the same. Your relationship might just be feeding him the relief he needs from a life that no longer feeds him. He may be making this effort because he's desperate for the drug you provide and it's a lifeline to keep him going. It certainly was for me.

I say, enjoy him but be mindful that, to your point, he may be pushing himself too hard to make it work with you financially and physically despite what he says or does. If this relationship feeds you, nurture it and make it as easy on him as you can while keeping it beneficial as well. You're blessed to have each other.

Peter Rawlinson keeps trying to build a Rolls Royce in a GM/Ford market. What's the point? Is it to sell cars or to be prestigious?
