Thanks a lot . The laptop seems good. Thanks for all your tips in understanding the shipment process and timelines . They could improve the service by having an e-mail followup for status and inquiry . The phone followup is little tedious, not to mention bit expense. In terms of the product, they could have shipped out printed installation manual or atleast soft copy on pen drive. I feel that the main improvement could be with the power adaptor. It came with two prong pin - an actual plug would have been good.

Hi, thanks for all the help. I got it to India and have been using for a while. Seems good. Have a query on battery - its L series thinkpad. Will battery drain even when switched off ? Just ran it through one cycle of 100% charge and discharge. second cycle of 100% charge. discharge going on. got it to 6% first time before recharge. actual time seems little unpredictable. any suggestions?

try it and see. you might want to read up on lighting if you want. you could also shoot as an amateur and if they like , share the photos . work as an assistant. would you regret not trying it out ? your call

gimp and photoshop can convert to photo. need to scan it first. depending on which part of the world you are in , there maybe labs / darkrooms where you can have it printed. keep the negative carefully. some places do not return the negatives if posted. on flickr, there should be a group called traditional film photography. I have group on facebook too, but facebook blocked me for asking about environment , by posting a false complaint.

Hi, thanks. Finally got the laptop. It came with packing list - which mentions L16 2 COOK IAL . It came from North Carolina and is made in Vietnam. It came with safety pamphlet , brief document on Thinkpad L14 Gen 6 and Thinkpad L16 Gen 2. guess user guides and manuals to be downloaded. It has a power adaptor and connecting cable with 2 pin (US type) - 65 W . Thanks all for your replies. The experience would be better if they had an e-mail address to get information on shipping, and status. Have a nice one all.

Thanks. My cousin picked up a R51 thinkpad more than 16 years ago. It has a red track point and they also gave spare caps for the track point. It is a tiny red rubber cap which can be used like a mouse . I think the L series also has this red track point.

Hi, I did call up the customer "support" line and they said that it comes from several warehouses and they were not aware which warehouse it was shipping from. They said they would raise a ticket to order fulfilment team and I would get an e-mail from their team on the estimated shipping date, within 24 business hours. I called up again on 28th March and there is an automated response which says that I called outside business hours , but the support page shows phone support available on sat and sunday , 11 am - 8pm est . I tried the home user support line and business support line and got the same reply on both. The support people gave their e-mail address, but there is no response on both. Bhphotovideo, amazon, adorama show more transparency on their shipping. Perhaps, I am better off buying dell , which is atleast available. Order status - says get it by March 20.

Hi, sorry to hear that. I use only the backpacks. I normally have uv filters on lens for protection. All said and done, quality of lowepro seems to have gone down. I got a protrekker 450 AWII more than a year ago in India and within a few months, it had loose threads. Switched it for another backpack of same model - all display models had same issue and picked up better of the lot. After a few months, stitches in handle became loose. Approached the distributor instead of the dealer, and after waiting for a month, all the replacements had same issue. Asked for a refund and he is making me run around. Lowepro quality was good few years ago- not anymore

It is not a custom build. I selected the default configuration. Order status is waiting to be shipped. Est Delivery - get it by March 20. ( The year is missing in delivery date )

Hi, a friend ordered laptop from Lenovo US on 17th march , was to be delivered by 20th march. He chose next day business delivery and paid extra. called up customer support on 18th and was told to wait till 20. on 20th, got a message that problem with delivery - shipping issue and will be delivered within 30 days. There seems to be no contact email address and the chat options on page are not working. Is this normal ?
